Richie is probably one of the best signings the club have made in recent years.
He knows we can play better and will do once the new signings settle etc
In Ritchie we trust.

Love this guys,no f*cking about attitude. he is not getting carried away with it all, knows there is a f*ck load of work to do, he seems to have a great rapport with the squad, he knows who to push and who needs time, can see the pros and the cons to each performance. For the first time in a long time Orient have a proper manager.

To be fair to Paul, Costa next to the training ground had probably run out cos of Lingy.

Loving Richie's honesty.

Nigel always says that he likes to be challenged, would not be surprised at all that Richie has been taking this to the extreme.

Keep it going Richie (though don't bite the hand that feeds you 😁).

That's unfair on Jackett and Gallen. We had a proper manager then. This is still mainly Jackett's squad, plus the addition of L1 standard Moncur. It only went wrong when the injuries to our star players kicked in.

Richie is a significant upgrade; did Jackett have much of a rapport with the fans? I do not think so. He allowed footballing standards to slip and he “lost the dressing room” as they say.

Lack of squad depth plus *that* January window for sure.

One big difference though, Jackett was at the end of his career so when he wasn't given the players he wanted seemed quite content to throw in the towel and await the sacking & payoff.

Wellens is very much a manager on the up looking to build his name and get to the higher levels. He won't accept second best be it from players, fans or even owners. He has that drive to succeed which is what this club needs to move the football side forward.

I liked KJ but maybe he was past his sell by date. The passion seemed to be missing. KJ is a quieter person though that is the way he is

Jackett had done it.

Richie has yet to do it. Although the signs look good.

You don’t need to tell jokes and do cheeky interviews to be a good manager.

Agreed with all of that.

My main reason for making that point wasn’t to defend Kenny, he’s history, but to make it clear a couple of long term injuries to the likes of Moncur and Smyth and we could easily see ourselves in the same position as last year as the depth of the squad has not improved, even if the starting XI has.

I think we're almost at the point RW mentioned wanting to get to at the tail end of last season... not necessarily a bigger squad in numbers but stronger in calibre of those coming off the bench.

Looking at say January when we had likes of Young, Brown, Coleman, Sweeney making up the numbers now we've got Thompson, Ogie, Smith coming on with Clay and Drinan to return.

It's senior pros not kids, who are now out on loan getting proper experience. That for me is the marked difference between what happened with KJ vs what RW is building towards.

It's just midfield that leaves us vulnerable and I reckon where another player will come in, maybe subject to Wood going out though.

Trust me Plumber this guy is a good manager possibly a championship manager in the making, think the club will be lucky if he’s still here come this time next season. As for the team I really don’t think it’s got out of second gear yet. I fully expect them to make the playoffs if not higher, barring any serious injuries, hopefully not🤞

He was a well past his sell buy date when he came to us. Never had a plan B when it was not going his way. The players had no belief in him it what he was trying/not doing.
Maybe a decent when at Wolves or even Millwall but defo not for Portsmouth or us.

Absolutely love the end of that interview. Just proves what creating a positive noisy atmosphere around the ground might actually help. Instead of the odd few who can’t wait to whinge and moan.
