Just watched the latest Celeb Gogglebox on All4 catch-up, and realised I didn’t know who half the Celebs were. I’m getting old and out of touch…

At least I now know I can’t watch the One Question quiz. Sounds an interesting idea, but the insufferable Claudia Winkelman presents so I’m out. The Big Boys drama looked like it might be worth a watch, though.

Alone (Netflix)- pretty decent but also basic thriller about a woman who is stalked while travelling.

Prey - the new Predator film.

Not bad. But not great.

Possibly one of the better Predator films (although no way near the legendary original). Once you get past the usual moral lecture on the inherent evilness of white men and toxic masculinity, and suspend all belief that a slight young female is the strongest in the group, it's a decent survival story.

different way of doing things, programming wise.

Thirteen - Good film that's worth watching.

It's the story of the young Thai football team and their coach, who get trapped in a flooded cave system. The Thai authorities fail to solve the conundrum but are thankfully saved by white British men and their toxic masculinity. So it gets a thumbs up from me.

Nah. Despite the film's attention to detail, that particular contribution by an African was sadly missing.

The actress who played Carly - Vinette Robinson - was a particular stand-out. Having worked with so many people like the characters, it was quite brilliant to see them portrayed so well. If anyone's not seen it yet, then do please, 'cos it's great.

Roads to Freedom on BBC4 iplayer. Saw the first airing when I was a teenager. Thought that it must be the intellectual life for me. Can not praise it highly enough.

Kajaki: The True Story - a Brit flick about the war in Afghanistan. It's a brutal and unflinching story of a group of squaddies who wander into a minefield. Definitely worth a watch. Just not while you're eating.

I don't think so. But when you see the results of troops wandering into a minefield, it's not always straightforward to identify individuals.
