Can't argue with that.

I had a quick look at his twitter from yesterday, he's still up to his old nonsense. What a dangerous man.

He did just go on Beirut television and say we shouldn't arm Ukraine though.

It was more along the lines of simply sending weapons into war zones, without diplomacy, doesn't end conflicts, it usually makes it worst or creates problems post conflict. See our support for the Taliban against the USSR as a prime example.

Or Libya, or Syria...

Not that what he has to say is in any way relevant anymore, but the 'arming Ukraine just prolongs the conflict' line is at best something a useful idiot says, at worst what the likes of Orban and other Putin stooges argue. It's a bollox argument and goes to show just how naive, possibly even dim, the man is.

Just done a U Turn on this idea, not even in office and backtracking already.
Houses are cheaper up north, so maybe she has a point
I have a an ex next door neighbour who a few years ago moved to a village just outside Wigan He was in his late 70s and he wanted to be near to his relatives in and around Liverpool. Sold his house and brought a better house for around 60% of the price of his house in Essex. He is always telling me how much cheaper everything is where he leaves now in comparison to when he lived down South. So I can see the logic in these thoughts.

I thought I’d go and have a listen to what the daft old fool has been saying now.

Difficult to argue with a single word of that.

Liz Truss saying she's been misrepresented is an out and out lie.
She said she was scraping national pay body for regional ones to save 8 billion pounds, then when she realised it wasn't popular and even possibly a vote loser, she backtracked and led about it.
She's a liar, and she's not even in power yet

To be fair, she's a) learned from the master, b) had a lot of practice at lying and defending lying and c) seen that there's no downside to lying - you're never held to account or properly challenged about it - and if you are, you just flat out deny you lied (another lie) or change the subject (or hope for the sheep to start bleating teh modern 3 word equivalent to "four legs good, two legs bad"). And if someone points out your lying in Parliament, they get a worse punishment for pointing it out than you get for doing it. What's not to like?

Liz Truss is going to be the next PM, isn't she. I'm gonna win £90 off SkyBet when she does but it will be my only win if she does.

I've been in jobs where the manager hasn't been very bright and when they get found out there is always a f***ing mess they've created to be sorted out. Truss has the look and feel of that type.

Have you ever been in a job where that's happened, and the new manager comes in and isn't very bright either?

Not sure. With regards to PM's in my lifetime, Truss will be the first one who is not very bright. There have been ones I hated, ones who were career politicians and even smarmy. The outgoing one was the most self serving chancer imaginable, but he knew exactly what he was doing. Truss is clueless, reminds me a bit of a supply teacher. Her class (MPs) will have her dancing to their tune, no way will she be in charge or have any authority.

Truss is not very bright but she seems viciously determined to win the race. She wants the glory and the photo opportunities .
She makes big pronouncements to make herself feel 'important' .
Other contenders for the cabinet may regard her as mallable, but I suspect that her ego for being 'someone big and in charge' (and her desperate need to wipe out her LibDem and Remain past) will get her making big policy announcements on the hoof. And we know that Tory MPs now have no qualms about supporting crazies. And Johnson is still lurking ......

How can the government, having voted 'no confidence' in him then justify leaving him in charge of the country, while they are all off on their holidays?
Seems that they really don't give a XXXX.

And now Tory MPs try to fudge about Johnson's failure as a PM, even though their actions to 'encourage his resignation' were based on his dishonesty and failures.

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/20 ... te-inquiry

Now we have Tory MPs who want him to resign/ disappear to save them from further embarrassment, those who think this would/ should cancel the independent enquiry led by Harman (and thereby prevent exposure of what really went on. There are those who are so loved up with him that they can't see a thing wrong about his actions (Nadine Dorris, Liz Truss and others), there are those who are utterly devoid of decent principles for governing that they double down on his extremism .... (Truss and Sunak in full flow, supposedly egged on by the Tory party members).

Johnson's poison will live on in our politics for many years to come!

The real reason why Truss is so desperate for the PM job: she wants to get featured in Vogue magazine.

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/20 ... into-vogue

It's all about photo opportunities (much like Johnson, really).

Truss still in full flow at pushing out 'buzz words' in her mission to become PM:

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/20 ... ke-culture

She wants to protect Jews from 'creeping anti semitism and wokeism' in the Civil Service.
She values British jews for their family values and setting up businesses ..... Not very bright, is she?
