Tbf I’ve just heard the interview and RW states that it’s nothing to do with ability or character, it’s because they need to free up wages and they have Hunt as well as Sweeney and Ogie who can cover LB.

TBH, Connor Wood is better than Sweeney who I think is only NL standard .

Agree, would think Sweeney isn't on anywhere near the same wage though and effectively 3rd choice given Hunt and Ogie would be preferred options at LB

That's what I thought would be the case too, maybe RW has got mixed up in the heat of battle. He wears his heart on his sleeve, might come off rash at times but I respect him for being straight up with what he's thinking at the time.

We defo had a small chant of “we’ve had a shot”. Usually tongue in cheek when you’re awful and 3-0 down or managed by Kenny Jackett in mid Feb. Not really needed today.

Richie thought he was good enough last season.

He also thought he was good enough until the day he signed his old mate Hunt.

If Wood has kicked off about Hunt coming in then fair enough, that’s unprofessional and he deserves his dropping. But Richie has said that’s not the case. Leaving him out of the squad like this altogether is just petty.

The timing is really sh*tty as well. If they’d told him at the end of May he was free to go, it’s a different matter. To ask him to find a new club on the first day of a new season when most properly led clubs have completed their summer business is naughty.

I know it’s not strictly relevant and I know Richie had made lots of excuses for his lack of fitness, but Hint has been very average thus far.

I’ve no issue with him being replaced. If Richie thinks Hunt is a better option, and we don’t have the budget for both Hunt and Wood, that’s fine.

I’ve no issue with him being replaced. If Richie thinks Hunt is a better option, and we don’t have the budget for both Hunt and Wood, that’s fine.
