RW in his post game interview has told Conor Wood to find another club .Conor was sitting 2 rows in front of us last week and he looked totally depressed throughout the game. Shame because he is a good player.

RW said Hunt's greater flexibility is what counts in his favour and no doubt the trust Wellens has from previous experience plays a part too, though suspect it's not the only reason Wood is being moved on.

If it frees up enough budget for a top notch CDM rather than a mediocre one it's what needs to be done.

If players don’t want to do what’s best for the squad they can do one. Wood is a decent player at this level and I’m sure he was put out when Hunt came in. But if he’s reaction was to work as hard as he could to get his place back, he would have been on the bench today and had a chance to play a lot this year.

I agree with all of the above. It’s a shame because he is a good player but falling out with two managers in a row implies a flaw in his character. Should have just worked hard and got his head down . He would have definitely hot back into the team

If things are as Richie says - Connor has been told on the opening day of the season he can clear off and is being left out of the squad when he should clearly be in it -then the club are behaving like fannies.

Both statements can be separately true in as much as if a player has an attitude problem they can go and Wood is surplus to requirements due to Hunt's arrival. Perhaps Wood's reaction to the new signing made RW's mind up for him.

TBH, Connor Wood is better than Sweeney who I think is only NL standard .
