So.a show of hands then.
Normally about 50 people turn up for these midweek AGMs.
Wouldn’t it be better to have a postal vote so all the members can
Have a vote?
A show of hands is a bit like a 1970s BL meeting.
Or, if people feel so strongly about it, then they can get off their backsides and attend.
The vast majority have better things to do like working for a living and haven’t got the time or means to attend midweek.
If you donated you had the option to have your funds returned. If you donated and chose not to do that and if you are a LOFT member I'm fairly sure you'll have the option to vote on any motion by post or, indeed, to raise a motion.

If you didn't donate or aren't a member, mind your own business.

Seems like it is well under control and well explained by A Pedant too.

I am a member and I did contribute so it is my business and no we have not had the option to vote by post.

First of all, thank you for being a member, and also for supporting the fund.

There's a lot of expense (time and/or money, depending on how it's done) in holding a postal ballot, so I suspect (and this is just my view, as one LOFT board member) that we would only do that if there was a really significant occurrence. To give a purely theoretical example that I used at the AGM, if the club ever held a share issue, that could be considered by some as coming close to one of the uses in the original fund mandate, as it would increase supporter ownership in the club.

But in the meantime, as we put in every members' newsletter, members are always welcome to give their views to the board on matters - whether that's in person to one of the board (there's at least one very easily-recognised board member ;) and some who go to most away matches too) or by email to lofanstrust@gmail.com

We can’t change the mandate unless you give us a vote.
At the AGM in December 2018, and every AGM in future. As it says in the AGM report I linked above.

So you want to spend money on organising a postal vote. All members would have to be contacted and what a waste of money. As you are so concerned about the money you have to LOFT to help save our club please confirm the exact amount you want back and am sure you’ll get it. I am sad that as a member you question LOFT and want them to get involved in an expensive and pointless exercise which would almost certainly result in no change.

Get off your high horse for a minute.there is no way I want my money back.
Know do I want it sitting in a bank account doing nothing.
100k is peanuts and there is no way that will buy a seat on the board.
In the two years they have been in charge, I can honestly say the owners are the most ambitious I have seen in my 45 years as a supporter.
Therefore I believe the money should be used to help push the club forward maybe in youth development or several other areas we could agree upon.
To leave the money sitting in the bank in case Kent and Nigel pull out doesn’t make any sense.
As fans let’s back the owners and use the money to take the club forward.

Why did you not raise a point to do this at the original meetings when the club was in its darkest place?

Maybe L.O.F.T could have put into the mandate if a vote had been carried ?

I might have to invest a £1 & then vent my spleen at the lofters every now & then when im bored .

I HAVE RIGHTS TOO 😁

Well i would if i gave em a Squid .

If £100k is ‘peanuts’, why would you want to donate it to a couple of multi millionaires like Kent and Nigel?

Then stop being dense and raise it through the proper channels instead of wasting everyone's time by posting on here.
