Its a shame Hunt, and the rest, wernt brought here 3 weeks ago, when they would have a time to blend into the squad in friendly games that didnt matter.
We always leave it till the last minute.
Still, Id rather have them here late, than not at all. We were desperate for new faces

Whar CDM roll ?

We will have players who can run all day press all day tackle all day & pass all day .

Stop with this OUTDATED view of a CDM .

Who are you really Frankfurter in a bun donut ?
Interesting, so which teams in three prem play without a cdm? In my opinion they've all got them

Remember the RW interview

Youve got to be able to be a 9 10 or 11

Or be a 678
Or be a 2345

Still waiting for you to name one? Call it what you like, I'll give you some examples of CDM's as I see it, Rodri, Fabinho, Rice, Kante, Bissouma, Partey. Players who can break up play and set teams going. I don't expect us to have anyone of their ability, but we have no one who can do that role.

Why have you named players who can score goals set up goals run back & forth in 1 of any position .

Both Clay & Pratley will fill the role you

I Said this earlier, its the smart move . players need to be able to do more than 1 thing & play 1 position
Could be Ogie or James trying out in midfield unless Hunt is coming in as an upgrade on Wood? The former would certainly be a creative way to address the difficulty recruiting that CDM role
Out of those two my guess is it would be Ogie in midfield simply because he played in that position last night .
No one is going to play a new position FFS.

Sigh. Of course they can, they are great players, but that is not their primary role. I'm not expecting a player at L2 to do what they can do, rather the primary part of what they do (win the ball and set the team up, which I do not think is Clay and Pratley strengths).

Perhaps showing you their record will help you understand that they're not in the team to "score goals and set up goals"
Rodri 324 appearances 20 goals 16 assists
Fabinho 434 appearances 44 goals 31 assists
Rice 228 appearances 10 goals 10 assists
Kante 420 appearances 23 goals 28 assists
Bissouma 189 appearances 13 goals 5 assists
Partey 350 appearances 31 goals 18 assists

-Complains for ages about the squad being padded with youngsters, complains about the cover for full back positions being youngsters and players who naturally can't play there for ages.

**Club signs 2 footed fullback who can play/cover either side at full back who played regualrly last season in a good side**

Rob Hunt played for Richie at two previous clubs so Richie knows exactly the type of player he's getting . I always feel the gamble element is removed when a manager has worked with the player before .

Maybe Hunt can play in midfield . Suppose to have played in multiple positions. Can’t see us affording another midfielder. Hunt turned down Swindon’s offer so he does not come cheap. Money received from Hector has been spent on Moncur.

Conspiracy, non

An option to do something different as RW was experimenting with over the summer, perhaps

I'd be very happy if we're making really strong competition between James, Hunt and Wood for 2 spots at RB and LB. Solves one of the depth issues from last season which is good.

Approach central midfield with the same class of signings then it starts to get exciting.

Georgiou replaces Khan, Moncur for Hector, Kelman for Nouble (assuming some cost more than others and it balances roughly out). Let's say Hunt is the combined cost of Moss and Mitchell, then you'd have Ray's spot only for another midfielder, so going to assume it'll be the loanee kid only coming in and then we're done.
