Not sure why I was a busted flush in view of the fan above but I can assure you Mark us first class and one of best CEOs I know in the game. He has done so much in a few months and is leading the way in that change.
Wishing the O’s good luck this season - look forward to coming to some games. Ta Danny
if you have to *tell* people that the new guy is great, because it hasn’t been *shown*, you can see why fans are getting antsy, no?

Don't forget new floodlights tooLifelongfan wrote: ↑Fri Jul 22, 2022 3:34 pm Some positives:
New dug outs
East Stand painted
New Electronic advertising boards will be in place next Saturday
New ticketing- last system was a shambles . Give this time
I suspect the shirt sponsorship was signed late in the day causing delays to get the sponsors on the shirts. The shirts are produced in China & as we know there are delays in the chain nowadays.
Did you see the You tube video with Devlin? I suggest watch it. There will e a few this season.
Macklin was only on social mdia as he had to constantly deal with ticketing problems

Re: Macklin or Devlin
Respectfully disagree. Who supports Orient for the quality of football or league position? It’s more than that. Selling off naming rights to stands named after legends, getting firms like cash converters on board, the s*n etc… f*** that. Add on too that, as you say, it didn’t bring us much success anyway, what a disaster. Orients about more than what division we play in.gshaw wrote: ↑Fri Jul 22, 2022 7:33 pmIf it means we get players in the building sponsor everything. Sadly for Macklin for all the money he brought it much of it was wasted on paying off Embleton, Senda, Fletcher etc etcApple Wumble wrote: ↑Fri Jul 22, 2022 5:20 pm Tbh Macklin would sell his soul for a few quid. I’m glad we haven’t jumped into a load of sponsorships with dodgy companies who throw money at us. I really hope that one of his KPIs is to actually live up to our values and being a ‘community club’.
My hope is that the reason that other stuff has stopped is he’s doing a massive review of our structure and who’s responsible for what.
Forget the community club nonsense, focus on getting to L1. You don't win trophies for being the nicest club in London.
Reviewing the structure and expenditure... absolutely

Re: Macklin or Devlin
Genuine question for Dan if he has time…
Why’s the ceo role at Orient have a massive marketing and commercial element to it? In my limited understanding of what CEOs are responsible for, it’s not usually that. Is it due to having a dof or just how the owners positioned things based on your experience?

Re: Macklin or Devlin
Cos Danny probably ain’t got time for this sh*t. Why is our ceo in charge of so many things? Obviously they should be responsible in so much as the buck stops with them, but why are they in the detail? Is it that we don’t want to hire people underneath Devlin who are specialised in ticketing, marketing, etc… or we do and we don’t hear about it?

Re: Macklin or Devlin
Good afternoon all,
I have just had this thread brought to my attention, so i thought it best to try and answer some of the queries on here (which I tried to do previously via the clubs You Tube Channel).
Firstly, it has been a very busy close season period. I apologise if some of you feel i haven't engaged frequently enough. Going forward the plan is to have a monthly update on our website and add additional updates in between as necessary. Board members will continue to take up offers to discuss club matters on podcasts etc.
Looking at some of the comments, here are my responses:
1. No-one is aware of any vouchers, £25 or otherwise, being sent to Season Card holders. All SC holders are entitled to a discount in the club shop, when using the shop in person. This will also be available online as soon as our new systems allow us to do so.
2. The final batch of season cards have been sent out today. If you haven't received yours by Thursday, please give the ticket office a call and they will arrange for a duplicate to be collected on Saturday or sent out to you if you are unable to come to the Grimsby game.
3. The reason for the later than usual despatch of season cards, is because we sold them on our old ticketing system and we needed to move the data onto the new Ticketmaster system and then re-check it all before sending them out.
4. Following comments from supporters, we have moved to a new ticketing system (see above). Ticketmaster are leaders in this field and we hope that the process of buying tickets will be much easier and straightforward in future.
5. The front of shirt sponsorship was signed very late. This, in turn, meant we were required to have the logos applied locally and that added a further delay. We are doing all we can to get shirts into the club shop in time for Saturday, but priority will be given to those who have pre-ordered. At worst we will have home and away shirts available in time for the second home game of the season. The Commercial Manager left the club for a new role and his replacement starts on 1 September.
6. The delay with the shirts is not ideal as we are in the process of upgrading the shop and club reception. The shop will be fully refitted (with air conditioning) by end of August latest.
7. New floodlights, commissioned by the Board before my arrival, have been installed.
8. New Digital perimeter boards have been installed, and should be fully operational for the Grimsby game. We hope these will really transform our commercial revenues, which in turn will hopefully allow for greater investment in the squad.
9. We've made some improvements in the hospitality lounges, again aimed at improving our hospitality offers and bringing in more revenue into the club.
10. We have commissioned a site survey for a new PA system. I would hope that, once we have decided on which company to proceed with, this will be installed by October (its not a straightforward job).
11. We have installed Wifi within the stadium bowl, which should improve connectivity for supporters on matchday.
12. We have sold nearly 4,000 season cards and are ahead of last season's sales.
13. We made the decision to remove the U11 season card price of £49 as we found a certain amount of misuse. Following some criticisms from supporters and subsequent discussions, we re-introduced it into the Family/Community Stand. Personally, i think it is a sign of strength to listen and take on board differing views and make changes if necessary.
14. With the Grimsby game taking place during the height of the summer holidays, and given the economic pressures on many people due to inflation/energy prices etc, we wanted to do all we could to sell out the first game of the season to give Richie and the players the best chance to get the season off with a win. We are very aware not to erode season card value and will keep price-led promotions to a minimum during the season. But they do have their place.
15. We are currently looking at several sites for a new training ground, which the board agree is badly needed. Not an easy or quick task, but something to which we are committed.
I hope that helps.
Thanks,
Mark (Devlin)

Fair play, Thank you.
I'm sure you have been busy behind the scenes - personally I think being a bit more visible to the clubs fans can only help.
