Longer he drags it out, the more enjoyable and damaging to the Tories it'll be. The guys done.Currywurst and Chips wrote: ↑Tue Jul 05, 2022 6:21 pm If it's just them two he'll try and ride it out

Re: Tory Watch
This will mean the Tories win the next election. They are masters at reinventing themselves and Starmer is not a vote winner, he could only win with a vote loser, Johnson, running against him.

Re: Tory Watch
Still unclear if there's others following although Kwarteng, Raab, Patel and Wallace confirming they're remaining. Regardless, the '22 committee elections or Graham Brady will do for him.
Whilst it'll be nice to see that fanny gone, it's not like the Tories are going to turn into socialists overnight so limited celebrations really. Under new management, they might be able to sell themselves to a gullible electorate all over again.

Re: Tory Watch
Despite saying to the contrary this has been organised by Sunak and Javid (who always jumps at the earliest possible opportunity) for maximum effect. With BJ hearing tomorrow, it will be a tough day day for him.
Will he ride this out? Possibly with a better chancellor and they will not be difficult to find.

The point is valid, tho - there is more of a chance of the tories losing the next election if Boris clings to power.Currywurst and Chips wrote: ↑Tue Jul 05, 2022 6:36 pm Not like the left to use a crisis in the Tory party to attack Starmer

However, there is a part of me that retains a nagging doubt, as I glance across the great lumpen masses that make up the UK electorate.

Re: Tory Watch
I'm not saying it's guaranteed, just that there's more chance of them losing with Boris than if they reorganise and rebrand themselves behind Sunak or Sajid or whoever.

Re: Tory Watch
It's bizarre that of all the stuff Boris has got away with or overlooked, it's a man touching other men that has proven to be too much for Tories.

Confirming what everyone knew already, Johnson admits to meeting Lebedev without officials when appointed foreign secretary.
