The wife does Wordle - there have been long periods of silence and head scratching and suggestions from me to 'try the American spelling'.

condominium- what the hells that? Surely a block of flats. Another favourite is calling anything they don't understand a facility. Totally meaningless. Call them a w*nker & they just don't comprehend.

Been watching my grandson play some baseball. At the ground the refreshment bar etc is called the 'concession'. Thought that's what we pensioners paid to watch the O's.

First years called Freshmen, second years Sophomores. The end of the academic year is called 'commencement' - of the summer 'vacation' presumably.

One that also gets me grimacing is that Mains and Sides are universally popular in restaurants - one never heard of Big Macs or Whoppers in Wimpy Bars either!

Never order anything from the menu with the word 'slam' in it. Shortcut to heart problems.

Cos I lived over The Pond for a bit, I’m guilty of still chucking in an American English word or term sometimes. Naturally, when I was out there I was often asked if I was an Aussie…

offensive for attacking...I damn well hate that term.........(when a player attacks I do not find it offensive!)
It is so commonly used now on T V.

I know, I know...Leave the T V off!

Anyhoo is the north New England and east Canadian accent for anyhow. They are not saying Anywho.
