It’s been a rocky start to the year for Bit-coin, but experts still say it will hit $100,000 — and that it’s more a matter of when, not if.

Total lay person on this, but I can’t get past that it seems that people are only buying Bitofacon as an investment, not because they have a realistic expectation that it will be an actual currency. As such it seems obvious that anyone who is intending to “win” by investing is reliant on a mug losing out later on

Re: The latest price of a Bit-coin.
Its on the rise again, sunk to just a tad over £15000 now in one day risen again to £16,505, so like volatile shares, buying and selling levels, so anyone who buys now perhaps sell if it goes above £28,000 !

No one has to lose out for an earlier investor to ‘win’.CEB wrote: ↑Sun Jun 19, 2022 1:35 pm Total lay person on this, but I can’t get past that it seems that people are only buying Bitofacon as an investment, not because they have a realistic expectation that it will be an actual currency. I didn’t say that - I said that intending to win by utilising the dynamics of this kind of investment is reliant on a mug losing later on. Doesn’t have to be at the next step.Gary the Plumber wrote: ↑Sun Jun 19, 2022 10:26 pmNo one has to lose out for an earlier investor to ‘win’.CEB wrote: ↑Sun Jun 19, 2022 1:35 pm Total lay person on this, but I can’t get past that it seems that people are only buying Bitofacon as an investment, not because they have a realistic expectation that it will be an actual currency. No, it’s not reliant on someone losing out later on at all.CEB wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 8:31 amI didn’t say that - I said that intending to win by utilising the dynamics of this kind of investment is reliant on a mug losing later on. Re: The latest price of a Bit-coin.
latest price is 922.58GBP, buy low, then sell high.
Of course then it comes down to a gamble as to when to sell and when to buy !

So it’s an investment that nobody loses out on?Gary the Plumber wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 9:12 amNo, it’s not reliant on someone losing out later on at all.CEB wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 8:31 amI didn’t say that - I said that intending to win by utilising the dynamics of this kind of investment is reliant on a mug losing later on. Re: The latest price of a Bit-coin.
Its another form of gambling, so of course like gambling on a horse race or on high risk shares, some win and some lose out !CEB wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 10:21 amSo it’s an investment that nobody loses out on?Gary the Plumber wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 9:12 amNo, it’s not reliant on someone losing out later on at all.
Only gamble what you can afford to lose.

So long as everyone just keeps on buying, then that's correct - nobody can possibly lose.CEB wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 10:21 amSo it’s an investment that nobody loses out on?Gary the Plumber wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 9:12 amNo, it’s not reliant on someone losing out later on at all.

Ooooff.
Re: The latest price of a Bit-coin.
Invest in Lego. Holds its value at worst, increases significantly at best, and you get to make x-wings and ghostbusters cars free . What’s not to like?

Ever been in a Lego shop? I’m guessing not, because when you go in, it’s like you’ve gone into a Scientologist type cult run by Rod, Jane and Freddie

Pound Sterling appears to be dropping faster than Bitofacon. Anyone know why?

Re: The latest price of a Bit-coin.
The traders (for that read gamblers) in the money markets have decided to try and make some money on a falling pound. It'll come round again. (I had a friend work in the money markets for his bank in the 80's - the stories he used to tell me about how they decide what to buy and sell, IMO it was 90% gambling, nothing to do with the state of a countries economy.
And yes, I know that most trading is decided by computer algorithms nowadays, not actual people.

You're doing that thing aren't you?
Is it because the American economy is the strongest it has been in a long time ?
