Former attorney general Jeremy Wright, who called on Boris Johnson to resign on Monday, has been given a knighthood in the Queen's Birthday Honours.

Is the Queen saying what she thinks of J*hnson ?

Now the " Leaders" of the Tory Party are saying dissenters are self-serving egotists. It is of course nothing to do with the fact that their Leader is a lying, crooked ole Git.

Confidence vote confirmed. I expect Johnson will win it, but this has to be the beginning of his end.

Too soon

If they'd left it a few weeks until they're smashed on both fronts in Wakefield and Tiverton it'd be a different story.

I suspect that some of the 54 letters needed have come from the Johnson camp. Having the vote today is the best timing for him as it will be easier for him to win than after the up coming by-elections. This will keep him in power for another year with the hope he can turn his fortunes around.

For Labour this is the dream scenario as the likelihood of Johnson sticking around will mean that the public will be get more use to the idea of voting Labour at the next election which will be in 2024.

Yep, would be a surprise were Boris to be ousted tonight, but I will be astonished if he's still leader by the next election. May secured two thirds in winning her confidence vote, but she was gone a few months later.

Boris Johnson, once a conservative vote catcher is now a vote loser, same as Corbyn was a vote loser for Labour. Starmer must be hoping that Boris stays on as Tory leader being as if he goes, then someone else may make a far better job of it and start winning votes back for the Conservative party.

Who else do the Tories have who would attract more voters than Boris is the problem for Tories

If they can get Farage back into the fold somehow, with a blue rosette on his lapel, they could.

Johnson will win the vote, of that there's no doubt but if 100 or more vote against him, he will be mortally wounded.
If the by elections both are disastrous for the Tories, the pressure on him will be immense.

Don't think either of those 2 would be more popular with electorate than Boris

They may be less controversial
