Some stats for you.PoundhillO wrote: ↑Fri May 27, 2022 4:19 pm Where are they, Bradford are way ahead of us.
Same old, same old.Leave our signings too late and miss out on the quality proven players at this level and above and end up with the dregs that nobody else wants.
Waiting, waiting, waiting.
Of the 4 promoted teams (FGR, Exeter, Bristol Rovers, Port Vale) only Bristol Rovers made a signing before June last year - And I doubt even you would have predicted that they would get automatic promotion, even on the last day of the season.
Forest Green Rovers, as champions, did not sign anyone until 21st June, by which time, Orient had made 3 signings (Darren Pratley, Connor Wood, Omar Beckles)
Exeter's first signing was on 8th June and Port Vale's on 4th June.
No need to push the panic button just yet

Re: Signings
Seeing as we rarely bring new faces to the club early on, youll be waiting a lot longer.
I do agree with you in the main though. I like to get business done early, then its done.
Im always fearful, we'll have another summer 2018, when we brought in Gorman, and Alabi, probably the two worst signings, this club has ever brought in, IMO

I’d like a summer like that because that season we went upQin wrote: ↑Tue May 31, 2022 10:30 amSeeing as we rarely bring new faces to the club early on, youll be waiting a lot longer.

Re: Signings
So, are you suggesting we went up because we signed the crock that was Gorman, & the useless Alabi?Story of O wrote: ↑Tue May 31, 2022 11:01 amI’d like a summer like that because that season we went upQin wrote: ↑Tue May 31, 2022 10:30 amSeeing as we rarely bring new faces to the club early on, youll be waiting a lot longer.

Neither of them played much ( thank god),& they had no influence on anything we did that season

Re: Signings
But, if they hardly played /had no influence and we still won the league, why are you so fearful that we will repeat the same 'mistake'?Qin wrote: ↑Tue May 31, 2022 12:17 pmSo, are you suggesting we went up because we signed the crock that was Gorman, & the useless Alabi?Story of O wrote: ↑Tue May 31, 2022 11:01 amI’d like a summer like that because that season we went upQin wrote: ↑Tue May 31, 2022 10:30 am

Re: Signings
If the rumours turn out to be true there won't be any new signings for a while because we haven't got a manager

Re: Signings
They're probably too busy fire fighting the rumours and pulling together an interview committee to source a new manager to bother much with new signings for now.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Tue May 31, 2022 1:43 pm If the rumours turn out to be true there won't be any new signings for a while because we haven't got a manager

Re: Signings
If the Richie Wellens rumours are true and he's off to Swindon we will be" waiting a damn sight longer for any new signings because we won't have a manager .
