If people had made those sort of remarks about: Black people, Asians, Moslems, ( perhaps ) women etc, other Boarders would have been all over it. Interesting innit?

Gordon Brown described the ERM as applying 'socialist planning' to the economy rather than 'relying on market forces'.
"He told the parliamentary Labour party 'We can fight the speculators if we join the ERM'. How much more money has Gordon Brown lost by selling gold from Britain's foreign exchange reserves - an unforced error?"
There has been much debate on how much and what sort of paperwork to release, following an initial request by the Financial Times under the Freedom of Information (FoI) Act, which came into force this year.
The Original link shows how George Soros got wealthy by black wednesday & those dodgy tories

Understanding Black Wednesday
Before Black Wednesday, the U.K. had been in the European ERM for two years. However, the pound was depreciating and falling close to the lower limits set by the ERM. The British government took steps to bolster the pound, including raising interest rates and authorizing the use of foreign currency reserves to purchase pounds.

It doesnt matter dohy
It clearly states Brown used foreign exchange reserves
It clearly States Lamont used Foreign currency reserves .
Its the same thing .
Again the BoE doesnt own any Gold so how were they selling " our gold " ?

Re: Tory Watch
It was only 5 days ago that the Tories suffered major election defeats, losing 500 seats and the control of 11 councils.
But most people who are "not interested in politics" wouldn't be aware of that because the lurid media headlines have been screaming about Starmer drinking a bottle of beer.
So ... Starmer calls their bluff and the same media now slates him for 'putting pressure on Durham police' when that is exactly what they had been doing.

Re: Tory Watch
So Johnson carries on, believing himself to be invincible and is solely motivated to keep HIMSELF in the 'top job'.
He suggests more fudges to appease the DUP (who were so easily fooled by him and voted for his Brexit!) for now and has no interest in the consequences just a few months down the road.
He has got it sussed how to keep his voters on his side (a bit of racism, a bit of rubbishing 'woke' ).
But for me. the most sickening thing is how all those Tory MPs still support that creature.
Surely, sooner or later Johnson's bubble has to burst?

They know people vote for him as they see him as the bumbling fool . They have nobody else who can get them to win again .E10EU wrote: ↑Tue May 10, 2022 11:10 pm So Johnson carries on, believing himself to be invincible and is solely motivated to keep HIMSELF in the 'top job'.
