Re: The Queen watch
Had already been thinking what happens if she pegs it beforehand. Presumably that weekend becomes a memorial weekend with the bonus of additonal days off for a day of mourning, ma'am's funeral and the coronation of Charles.

Re: The Queen watch
We get holidays if she dies, right? Do we also get holidays for Charles' coronation? That, along with the early June bank holidays would be fantastic.
I mean, obviously I hope she pulls through and all that, but I think it's important for the Nation's mental health we focus on the positives at this difficult time.

Interested in the optics of the Queen pegging it and BJ rescinding all covid restrictions the next day

Watching BBC Breakfast this morning, and the presenters are wearing dark clothing. They're on yellow alert.

The Queen has cancelled her zoom calls today, but we are being told her symptoms are mild and cold like.
I bet she's feeling crappy today. The Palace never give the public the truth

08.00 On BBC Radio 4 they played The National Anthem as a Birthday present for Brenda. BoJo can't accuse the BBC of dissing Lilibet. God Save the Queen, long may she reign. ( As an aside, did you know that God Save the Queen is one of the few examples of the subjunctive mood in the English Language ? )

Re: The Queen watch
Always assumed it was an imperative command - cos even God obeys what the English tell him to do - but thinking about it, it is a rare subjunctive in English-speaking [pedants' corner: usually we use something like should+infinitive verb instead]did you know that God Save the Queen is one of the few examples of the subjunctive mood in the English Language

Re: The Queen watch
She's going to miss the opening of Parliament tomorrow, with Charles and Wills stepping in with a double act. They must be trying to keep her going until the jubilee.
