Re: Births Deaths And Marriages
Shane Warne - IMO the greatest spin bowler in Test history and one who brought back into the cricket the previously, much lamented dark arts of leg-spin bowling of which I did my share in my teens. I never bowled a "ball of the century", but I could turn it a yard as a teenager. I'm in my late 60's but Warney was a hero of mine. I've got his signed photo and signed cricket ball in a frame looking at me now. I'm so shocked and after Marshy's death as well. I've got tears in my eyes.
RIP Warney
RIP Warney

Re: Births Deaths And Marriages
Shane Warne was simply the best bowler to have played the game add to that his personality which made him popular around the world both as a player, coach and commentator. I started bowling leg spin for my club team after watching him make it look so bloody easy and it definitely wasn’t. Massive loss to cricket just hours after the passing of Rod Marsh.
RIP as the Aussies would say GOAT.

Eric Chappell - the writer of ITVs greatest sitcom Rising Damp, he created something which brought great joy to millions. His humour was very Northern in style, but something wonderful to really treasure.

Was mildly amusing. Don’t know who judged it as ‘greatest’. Anyone else apart from yourself?Give it to Jabo wrote: ↑Sun Apr 24, 2022 7:55 pm Eric Chappell - the writer of ITVs greatest sitcom Rising Damp, he created something which brought great joy to millions. Horses for courses I suppose. Then again, BBC has had far more better comedy’s for longevity and quality I feel.tuffers#1 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 24, 2022 9:26 pm2004 bbc best 100 sitcoms voted 27 & was as stated itvs highest entry in the vote !Dextercoindexter wrote: ↑Sun Apr 24, 2022 9:02 pmWas mildly amusing. Dennis Waterman - two such iconic roles in The Sweeney and Minder. Such very brilliant TV. Popular culture does not come better in my view.

Re: Births Deaths And Marriages
I liked those shows, and New Tricks was alright too. But Waterman had a bit of a dark side: slapped his missus about cos she was cleverer than him. Hmmm.

Jethro Cave, son of Nick Cave, dies aged 31.
That's the second of Cave's sons that has died.

Fred Ward, actor, dies at the age of 79. You may remember his from starring alongside Kevin Bacon in Tremors.

Another Aussie Cricketer. Andrew "Roy" Symonds killed in a car crash aged 46. He was quite an abrasive charecter. Useful batsman and occasional bowler. It's been an awful few months for ex Aussie cricketers.
