The OP posed a question - why do we need more players. That's my view on why we do. The date is irrelevant.Red_Army wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2019 10:28 amIt's July 6th. Striking options were poor outside of Bonne and Koroma. We lose both, replace them like for like but don't strengthen. So now we've still got no options outside an unproven new pairing. Alabi is still one of our 4 strikers for the Harlow game today
Dayton still hasn't signed. Even if he does we're light on options if you count Jobi as a CM now. That assumes he doesn't step back a bit to do more on the coaching side. Remember we no longer have Koroma there to plug the winger gap if we're short.
The only one we don't need to replace of the released players is Grainger. Bringing in less than we release otherwise and replacing with kids who haven't even played NL level let alone L2 is classic Orient cost cutting if signings don't come in.
Don't assume L2 will be an easy ride, people seem to be not giving the step up in level any respect which is a dangerous game imo.
What's happening with new signings??

Interesting that JE wanted us to sign both Wright and Wilkinson in January, but we couldn't make it happen.

I think in the case of Wilkinson it was that we preferred Simpson.

No the date is entirely relevant bevause we still have a month until the season starts. There will be incoming signings before then.gshaw wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2019 10:30 amThe OP posed a question - why do we need more players. That's my view on why we do. The question was "do we need any more". Some believe we don't but I think that's crazy, which then comes back to your point about what happens in the next couple of weeks.

Re: What's happening with new signings??
On a separate note we still need a centre forward, a wide midfielder and a ball winning midfielder. Without those three we will struggle to get top half of the league.
I know there’s time, but the quicker you get them in the quicker they can settle and get used to what’s required of them.

Good point. Could be the infamous Allan Trialist and his brother Andy Triallist.

Re: What's happening with new signings??
After that, I can see Alabi being a part of the side this year.
Prediction.
Alabi to play well in every pre-season game
Officially off the list
Cliches like 'he earned it', or 'like a new signing'
Same old Alabi in the League
Out of favour by Christmas
Released on a free end of year

Ah I forgot the only acceptable setting is happy clappy. Sort out a proper squad and there might be some more positive reactions. Haven't slagged off either new signing but seeing Alabi being billed as our saviour after losing Bonne and Koroma isn't the way forward.Lucky7 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2019 7:14 pmYou comeonyouos poundhillo And dis should just have your own moaning pagegshaw wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2019 5:41 pmYup the social media team have likely already written the article "just like a new signing"eagwgw wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2019 5:31 pm After that, I can see Alabi being a part of the side this year.

When the club does good things it gets praise, when it doesn't then that can be called out too. If you don't like that press the ignore button, doesn't bother me.
