So you would have dropped Smith or Drinan to give him a chance?

Out of interest he made 8 starts under KJ and nearly 20 appearances.

Good luck to him if, as I suspect, he moves on!

If he does he's taking a big risk on becoming another Tristan Abrahams rather than a Josh Koroma. Hasn't showed consistency over a sustained run of games at L2 level yet, let alone any higher

I agree. He may be tempted to try at a higher level, but don’t think he is ready yet. If he goes he has reserve team football to look forward to for a year. Or being loaned out.

Try telling that to his agent!😁

And when he was played earlier in the season, he was very inconsistent, to put it politely.

Only my opinion but I don't think Ruel is as good as people make him out to be , he goes down to easily when challenged and doesn't pass the ball when it's a better option , I think he would struggle in a higher division , as I say only my opinion 🤔

Would be a blow to lose him.

Never understood people criticising Ruel, he young, hungry and exciting to watch.

Look again some of his finishes this season, the goals at home to FGR and Bradford are clean strikes and he's never afraid to take a shot. He would definitely score in L1 with good support.
He's just going to get better and better, if we do sell I would hope for at least 300k and a chunky sell on clause.

This should have been his big season and in relation to his career it probably will be pivotal. Thanks for keeping us up Ruel and all the best for the future. To add to the total wind-up, just waiting on Watford to be added to the list of suitors.

He doesn’t seem to have much self confidence and he must have others pulling his strings . Reality is , he could do really well here staying , growing his personality and experience and be the main man like others have historically rather than take the plunge into a ‘better’ club, getting a bad run of form or injury then disappearing into obscurity.

Agents, the scourge of modern football, often 'point' a young player in the direction they want the player to go.
Let's hope Ruel has an agent that perhaps suggests to him that staying would enhance his career in the long term

You think his Agent is more interested in a personal payday than Ruels future? As if,

Steven Alzate did make the Premiership, it is true. He’s not an automatic pick, however.
