I would be much more impressed if a company were going to build electric four seat family hatch-backs rather than luxury cars in this country.

Even that good old left wing newspaper, ''The Guardian' ' agrees that Scotland is a financial basket case !!
Scotland cuts its deficit, but is still outspending the UK
Latest data shows gap between income and spending is four times as much as UK as a whole.

Think that its safe to say that the Guardian is a newspaper with left wing views. The Guardian is only centrist if you are so far to the left, that Ed Miliband is considered conservative. Basically, the Guardian is to the left, what the Daily Mail is to the right, which makes it rabidly partisan by definition. Even the Washingon Post is a much more centrist paper than the Guardian, and they are hardly far-right fascists are they ?
Of course for a person like yourself who claims to be of ultra left wing views, a left wing view is different to what others might see it to be !!

A lot is down to government policy not only here but around the globe relating to diesel cars. JLR bet the house on diesel and that rug was well and truly pulled from under them. Don’t forget they were encouraged to go down the diesel route.Constantine wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2019 7:04 pm JLR have also laid off 6000 people in the last two years.

I’d like my car to take me to wherever I want to get to in the uk, without having to stop for hours to charge up a battery. Until you can get real world mileage, and quick charging times, plus a grid to support it, I’ll stick to luxury, thanks.

I have yet to hear anything about powering articulated lorries with battery power, they are the things that cause the greatest pollution and damage to the roads after all. Brighton council in a fit of the environmetals built a recycling wagon out of an extended milk-float, great idea until it has to run down to the recycling depot at Newhaven at 10 mph and hold the whole coast road up for half an hour.
Time to get more freight rail lines built and get containers off the road.
