Re: Oscars
He was wrong to swear and wrong to resort to violence. He ruined the night, tainted his own award and achievement and has since apologised for his actions.

Re: Oscars
Are the stewards at the Oscars the same as the ones we had against Barrow on Saturday. At least Smith didn't lose a shoe.

Re: Oscars
Will Smith behaved like an emotionally stunted child, who resorts to violence as a coping strategy when hurty words are said. And then moments later is handed an award and stands up there giving the usual sanctimonious and self-important acceptance speech.
I mean, just who the f*ck does he think he is (and what the f*ck did he think he looked like), stomping up to Chris Rock like that with his angry face on? I thought Chris handled it about as well as can be expected, and hopefully Will Smith feels like an utter fool this morning. And I hope the industry now treats him as one.

Re: Oscars
You'd most likely confront someone in the face on the street if they were to take the mick out of your wife's medical condition, if it was obvious to the outside world. At an awards ceremony, with comedians and jokes about the audience - it's one way of deflecting the poor tasting joke from the comedian and ruining everyones night.
No one comes out of this with much credit. Chris Rock for the joke in question, Will Smith for ruining the night.
Never been a fan of Smith, and Chris Rock hasn't been funny since the early 2000s.

It's Smith's mother I most feel for - I know it was only a minor altercation but she'll be terrified after last nights events. I hope she doesn't do anything drastic.

Smith is a tw*t, and I hope the industry punishes him, for this violent act.

Re: Oscars
Did Rock know it was a medical condition? Maybe not, just saw it as a lifestyle choice or maybe she was preparing for some acting part. Either way, poor taste but that’s award ceremonies for you. Listen to Ricky Gervais. Don’t make it right, but that’s the way it is. Need to be grown up.
I wonder if Smith would have been so brave if it was the Rock, Dwayne Johnson, making the remarks and not Chris Rock. My guess is no. He would have just smiled.
Living his acting parts in real life. When it suits. Now the whole world knows about a private medical condition. Smart.

Re: Oscars
Perhaps this will end the trend that sees awards presenter and the hosts trying to be disrespectfully funny. Whilst I don't approve of what Smith did, I can understand why he did it. Being a little hot headed and very defensive of my family, I would probably have been up there too.

This punch, greyhound, you reckon would have broken his nose? Just out of interest how do you think you would have delivered the blow. A left hook, or maybe a right cross?greyhound wrote: ↑Mon Mar 28, 2022 9:25 am https://uk.yahoo.com/movies/oscars-2022 ... 28420.html
would you clock someone taking the micky out of your wife.
I would of broke his nose with a punch not a slap.

What, you mean we can have non-stop virtue signalling, quotas to fill, self Flagellation and no jokes? Sounds greeeeeeaaat. If that had been my missus, the ‘comedian/ tw*t’ (delete as applicable) would have been ‘wearing’ the microphone.

I don't really get why he didn't go full hog and clock him. He's both looked like an aggressive idiot and a bit of a bitch. If he'd stuck to telling him to f*ck off 99% would've backed him and all.

Re: Oscars
Always love these sort of threads when all the ‘Ard nuts come out.
Violence is never the answer. What would have been more cutting is if smith went up there and embarrassed Rock by explaining the struggle his wife has had and why what he said are him look stupid. Instead he looks like a bit of a nut job who didn’t get the joke for about 30 seconds.

Re: Oscars
And, because of his actions, I've now learned all about his wife sleeping with their son's friend.
Not that this bothered Will Smith, of course, or caused any simmering rage that he was just about able to keep a lid on for so long.
What a willy.
