Sounds like the Russian sieges are starting to work, they've taken their first major city.
What's the plan after they've inevitably taken Kyiv, Lviv etc? They are going to be trying to manage one of the best armed, highly motivated insurgencies in history. Read this morning that there are tens of thousands of Ukrainian men actually returning to the country to join the fight.
The best case scenario for Russia is what, a Ukraine paralysed by a nationwide never ending civil war between some useless puppet regime and a western backed rebellion, draining whatever pennies Russia has left due to being absolutely whacked by sanctions. Maybe the non-west eases up on them a bit after a while in that scenario, but they are going to be pariahs in Europe as long as they are in Ukraine.
Presumably Putin thinks he can replicate the Chechen playbook and be so absolutely brutal that it stubs out any resistance?
Take the main cities and infrastructure, negotiate a settlement via blackmail with the Ukrainian Government.
Should they not be in the mood displace the government enough and negotiate with Russophile Ukrainian politicians on the pre-text the legitimate government are MIA
Suggestion going round, which I fully endorse, get rid of Abramobvich and other Oligarchs and house Ukrainian refuges in their massive mansions. Putin's kids are at school in The Netherlands, the evil west, while Ukrainian children have to spend their nights in underground shelters.
Confiscate all Oligarchs' properties (including Abramovitch) and tell them that they might get it back if Putin dies in the next week or so. Leave the rest to them.
Confiscate all of their belongings, including the clothes on their backs, and send them back to Russia wearing character costumes from In The Night Garden.

How much longer can the West, stand by and watch Russia purpertrate these horrors in Ukraine?
If the Russians encircle Kyiv and starve the people into submission, will the West still just stand by and let this happen?

Well that's what American propaganda says, but in reality Russia has attacked very few countries outside their sphere of influence, whereas America had invaded over 40 countries either directly or indirectly, since the second world war.
America is the biggest terrorist state there's ever been, but we are fed Pro American propaganda non stop, and most people, including you, believe the crap.
Russia are no angels, but America are more likely to invade any country, at any time, as they have been doing for 75 years

This was posted by Stop the War at the time Russia was invading Crimea. But for some reason it has since been deleted from their website.
"True anti-imperialism means opposing not only the west’s imperialism, essential as this is. It’s about opposing all imperialism, whether western, Russian, Chinese or other. It’s about opposing all aggressive wars, regardless of who wages them. It’s about resisting the temptation to believe that your enemy’s enemy must be your friend."
It's being reported(eg Reuters) as Romanian jet disappeared from radar contact (reason unknown) and the helicopter sent to check crashed in bad weather.

Russian lawmakers have drafted potential legislation that, if introduced, would conscript into the military anyone arrested for protesting against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Convicted protested would be forced to fight in the invasion itself.
