Get a million and he can go IMO.
I think he’s a better long term prospect for a higher division team than Macca or Koroma.
Always been impressed by him since his first game. If it happens good luck Dan

100% agree, he is the player with the highest ceiling and as such should command a bigger fee with better future clauses on top.

Re: Sharks Sniffing Around Happe
I called that in the Judd thread he'd be next. Leicester makes sense as it looks increasingly like McGuire will be leaving.
Soon its gonna be like will the last one out please turn off the lights.
I will be gutted if him and Judd leave and I'd have to question the owners if this happens. People questioned their commitment to our youth system last season and I defended them. I've played long enough and high enough to know how this game works, but selling potentially your four best young players is madness.
Losing Justin (may God rest his soul) has or may truly desimate this football club. What comes next will determine if those words given by the owners about his legacy will be matched by their actions and deeds.
I'm seriously starting to get pissed off.

What’s to get peed off at
Players have the right to further there careers/wage packets
Owners have the right to if possible claw some of there money back
Sometimes it’s not all about what the fans think
First and foremost it’s a business

Re: Sharks Sniffing Around Happe
I know it's a question of levels and his potential level is high. I love what was started here with the youth and Andy what's his name whose now with England. It's even better when they make the first team and do well, there is nothing better than a home grown player making it in your first team.
It's a shame we are continuing to lose them and will continue to lose them as that's the reality of football at our level.

I understand it's a business, but you need a product to sell and if you lose all your beat players that product becomes less desirable. We should be building on what we did last night and not taking away from it.

Re: Sharks Sniffing Around Happe
Depends on what we replace with. If we get like for like L2 pros in then fair enough. If we try and cheap out by not replacing them at all then it's a dangerous game and one that won't go down well with the fanbase.
Still why I would close the academy and focus on the 21+ drop outs from the Premiership U23 sides. That won't sit with the whole "community club" thing so we'll continue doing the hard work for the likes of Norwich instead.
Trouble is now we're far more likely to get the Alzate / Dalby / Abrahams scenario where any good prospects are nabbed for peanuts after only playing a handful of games then we are the Koroma / Happe version where they contribute a season or more.Howling Mad Murdock wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2019 5:22 pm Sad to see him go but would like to see the acadamy keep going and promoting diamonds like Happe.

Re: Sharks Sniffing Around Happe
Can’t imagine we get near a million. Good player but lacks he pace to play at the highest level imo.
We do have turley as a back up and Widdowson at a push so not our thinnest position

Re: Sharks Sniffing Around Happe
Imagine all this happening (which it would have) and we were still in the National League. And some people said I was dramatic saying that last season was one of the most important in our history.

So we can sell them at 18 years old for £20k each, Norwich and co must be laughing at our naivetyLucky7 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2019 5:34 pm well thankfully because of promotion we can keep the academy rolling and hopefully they will be more young players that can be weened at Leyton Orient then go on to better things we are acselling club always have been and every now and then we have a product to sell

The Club has developed some very promising players in the last 5 years; long may it continue, but, please, put in at least a season or two at this level first.....

Re: Sharks Sniffing Around Happe
I would say it’s exceedingly rare for a club to get promoted and start the season much weaker than the season before. We are that club currently and certainly if we lose Happe and Judd. Oh joy. That’s the orient we know and love. I don’t care if all our young players want to better themselves and leave but for F sake, spend a few hundred grand on a really good central midfield player.

If it happens and we get a Coulson or Turley on a 2-year deal as replacement I’d be ok with that

Re: Sharks Sniffing Around Happe
Im sick of people saying " if they want to further themselves, you cant stop them" Oh yes you can !
You say no....like Hearn did when Slade wanted to talk to Barnsley
Ultimately the owners duty is to Leyton Orient, not to further the career of young men.
We really are a soft touch.....any club comes knocking we just sell them our best players
Like Thor, Im also getting very pi55ed off now

But Dan Happe is the product, and he's being sold for a million pounds if you believe this article.
