Re: Get Derek Adams in
Would need a massive climb down from the owners who interviewed him previously and then indicated they had reports from previous employers which indicated he wasn’t easy to work with.

Kind of feel that this isn't the time for an abrasive personality either. Too much risk of further implosion, assuming these reports were correct.Top of the JES wrote: ↑Wed Feb 23, 2022 11:14 am Would need a massive climb down from the owners who interviewed him previously and then indicated they had reports from previous employers which indicated he wasn’t easy to work with.
I was really impressed with his Plymouth teams from a few years ago and he's had success elsewhere too so from a footballing perspective he'd be a decent choice.

Re: Get Derek Adams in
Is the obvious choice ..
But he’s had a promotion under his belt
with a club with one of the smallest budgets
since being turned down by us ..
Will be looking at bigger and better..
Think we need to look nearer to home
with someone along the lines of a Saah,
Lawless or Harrold ..
(Only stating what’s probably going on behind
closed doors regarding recruitment)..

Going to be Harrold and Saah in charge on Saturday I would think.

From a day to day basis I don’t think the owners have much to do on the playing side of things,it’s people who visit the training ground regularly that have more influence and you probably know where I’m going with this, however this is not the time for infighting we need someone who can jump straight in and get the best out of what we have and if that means giving Adams a short term contract until June to preserve our football league status so be itSmendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Wed Feb 23, 2022 11:16 amKind of feel that this isn't the time for an abrasive personality either. Re: Get Derek Adams in
Does anyone actually know what "unacceptable references" which was the reason he was overlooked last summer meant in this case? Is he actually a nasty person that people do not like? It does not add up to me.

Re: Get Derek Adams in
Imagine "unacceptable references" could be Chinese whispers, as opposed to the references given swayed the decision.

You are probably right - but its a fresh face, or faces, at the top of the team management tree that are needed.Top of the JES wrote: ↑Wed Feb 23, 2022 11:24 am Going to be Harrold and Saah in charge on Saturday I would think.

Just to say I didn't then and don't now believe any of that stuff about references. You, pretty much, can't say anything on a formal job reference except to confirm that the person was employed by you between this date and that date. You certainly can't risk saying anything that might be detrimental and stop them from getting the job.

Doesn’t have to be formal,Football chairman pick up the phone and talk to each other, when Travis spoke to one of Adam’s previous chairmen they gave him a less than glowing review.EH16 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 23, 2022 1:32 pm Just to say I didn't then and don't now believe any of that stuff about references.
