What squad changes can we make?

Post by gshaw »

Last time a sacking happened with Embleton it was pretty clear certain players were being frozen out and McAnuff made some wholesale changes in his early matches.

Not so much so this time around, the only big impact I can see is bringing Wood back in from Boco Island and perhaps starting Reilly over the youth CMs?

I don't envy the new manager trying to make something out of the current squad, I personally can't see a good CM combination from the ones we have... maybe going full crazy gang route one is the only way? :~

Mrs Gold says they should all be sacked but in a legal way so that they can work out their notice.

It's not going to easy because the side have no confidence at all. Personally I'd like to see a 4-4-2 with Ruel in the centre up front with Smith or Drinan. We got to start scoring or we've had it. God knows what we do with the midfield.

Play players in their positions and go back to basics. Movement, overloads and tempo - drive at players and make things happen. Huge work needed on set pieces, attacking and defending.

Easy - peasy. Play defenders in defence, midfielders (chuckle) in midfield, and strikers (giggle) up front. Oh, and ask them all to try a wee bit bit harder, if they don't mind awfully, please. That should do it!

Options are severely limited. Yes we may get a new manager bounce for a game or two but realistically there isn’t much else can be done with what we’ve got available. We’d to keep things as simple as possible, and get some of these kids out of the firing line:

Vigaro

Thompson Beckles Ogie Wood

Pratley Colebrown

Khan

Drinnan Smith Archibald

Maybe. Maybe not.

Neither Thompson or Wood are going to get forward much. You’re basically going long to Smith and getting the other 3 in and around him and hoping for the best.

Isn’t Khan a wide player?

1-1-8 is the way to go, you never know we may even score!

Would be very happy with this Saturday. Back to basics and players in right positions. Maybe swap Thompson for Moss and that’s about it. Happy to go with more defensive full backs as long as we get the right players forward up the pitch.

Archibald for me was our best player Tuesday. He and pretty much him alone is giving me hope we will flight to safety. Playing him left wing in his natural role needs to be the starting point. Build the team around that in my opinion.

Great

I sure Matt and Brian can work wonders on everything you stated in a day or two on the ground before Saturday
At what point in my post did I say I expect that to happen overnight?

Honestly think you've got the wrong guy. I've hardly posted on the board, let alone be rude to anyone.
