Looks like it could be a big one for those based in the south of England.

Re: Storm Eunice
The UK gets hit by storms all the time, but this one is going to hit the more important parts of the country. It's time to worry.

Re: Storm Eunice
This is a major worry.
This storm will be talked about for many years.
The wind will be horrendous in the South East, really horrendous.
Take care folks

Re: Storm Eunice
Amber warning in London/Essex but red in South West and Wales. So we should be concerned, but could be worse.Long slender neck wrote: ↑Thu Feb 17, 2022 9:18 pm Should we be worried? Or will it be the usual bin falling over sort of thing?

Re: Storm Eunice
Good point. The South West and Wales are not that important. Hopefully they can take the brunt of it and spare the rest of us.

Re: Storm Eunice
‘Only’ Amber warnings down here in Pembrokeshire: 90mph winds and peak spring tides to add extra misery to coastal areas and the Cleddau Estuary. Just have to sit it out indoors, hope the leccy stays on, and check for damage once it eases tomorrow.

Re: Storm Eunice
Lots of bags and water bottles used to hold up the fences seem to be working so far down on the coast opposite Isle of Wight. Doubt I'll be going out for my usual Friday lunch time walk or run on the beach today.

Live footage of planes attempting to land at Heathrow. Glad I flew back from Hungary before today.

Wind picking up and gusting now in E10.
A few fences down and garden furniture airborne.
Had to remove the bird feeders as the birds were in danger when trying to land.

Re: Storm Eunice
Tell her to keep the windows closed though, don’t want a sudden gust knocking her out of it.
Re: Storm Eunice
Easing off here in S Wales. All seems to be OK around us but the wind is still strong and other parts of S Wales have had a bad time. Photo of a tree that's fallen across the road in Blarney, Ireland where one of my sons lives.
