It's more the point that the manager would rather play a CB at RB than the poor quality NL player signed in the window to play thereSmendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Sat Feb 12, 2022 4:56 pmAs said before, we already had Wood and Mitchell on the bench. Moss the January RB signing not even in the squad, play a CB and end up with the new wide man there instead
Reilly finally fit, not in the squad and then brings on Kyprianou at 0-1 when he's been useless for weeks

Sadly, can’t see beyond this.cymruO wrote: ↑Sat Feb 12, 2022 4:56 pm Looking like the only way we can turn this around is to say goodbye to KJ. This isn't just about injuries or youngsters, this is about a team that has lost all confidence and can't produce any goals. We need to change the manager just so we stay in league 2. That's the fught now.
The first half was ok, we were marginally on top. Salford we’re bang average. That Asante was the only player who’s any good.
But as soon as they score, effectively against the run of play, all confidence went and we fell apart, on the pitch and off it.

Its pretty desperate at the moment, Chris. KJ has to go now otherwise this will definitely continue.cymruO wrote: ↑Sat Feb 12, 2022 4:56 pm Looking like the only way we can turn this around is to say goodbye to KJ. Thompson has also played right back previously in his career so it's not like it's an outrageous decision.gshaw wrote: ↑Sat Feb 12, 2022 5:02 pmIt's more the point that the manager would rather play a CB at RB than the poor quality NL player signed in the window to play thereSmendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Sat Feb 12, 2022 4:56 pmAs said before, we already had Wood and Mitchell on the bench. Suppose that decusion was Ling's fault too, right?

Re: Orient v Salford match thread
When a teams head is gone, it's incredibly difficult for a manager to turn that around. After starting so well, it's baffling the extent to which we've fallen apart (our last win was to thrash the divisions then form team), but we look like a team on course for relegation. Shame, as on paper Jackett was probably the best appointment we've made since I've been a fan.

Reilly only sat on the bench in the week because we were short. His time will come if he ever gets fully fit.
Thompson playing at RB over Moss makes perfect sense right now.

Signing a NL youth player, yes that's exactly the kind of thing we've come to expect, along with injured players his other favourite tactic. Jackett's tactics second half were bizarre but you look at what he has to work with and none of it really becomes surprising.Smendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Sat Feb 12, 2022 5:06 pmThompson has also played right back previously in his career so it's not like it's an outrageous decision.gshaw wrote: ↑Sat Feb 12, 2022 5:02 pmIt's more the point that the manager would rather play a CB at RB than the poor quality NL player signed in the window to play thereSmendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Sat Feb 12, 2022 4:56 pm

Dress it up with Travis' PR how you like, that January window was a mess and along with the tiny squad that him and Ling gambled on (thinking they'd get the wage cap brought in) set the side up for failure.
With proper recruitment you'd have a decent cover RB in place and not signing crocked players like Reilly might mean having half a chance in midfield too.Ronnie Hotdogs wrote: ↑Sat Feb 12, 2022 5:11 pmI’m not sure what your gripes are here?gshaw wrote: ↑Sat Feb 12, 2022 5:02 pmIt's more the point that the manager would rather play a CB at RB than the poor quality NL player signed in the window to play thereSmendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Sat Feb 12, 2022 4:56 pm

Squad was paper thin, we signed crocks. We've been unlucky with injuries and we have a manager who persists on playing people out of position. It's a perfect storm.

Ok, we’re in agreement that the recruitment is a mess.gshaw wrote: ↑Sat Feb 12, 2022 5:15 pmSigning a NL youth player, yes that's exactly the kind of thing we've come to expect, along with injured players his other favourite tactic. The only problem is, who the heck do you blame for that? There’s a committee in place to agree on players. I’m pretty sure that Kenny is on it, so he’s partly to blame, but not entirely.
We also only have a finite budget. The better we negotiate with players and their scumbag agents, the more/better players we are able to sign. From what I understand, that’s the DOFs responsibility. Doesn’t anyone really trust Lingy to carry this out effectively?

Jackett may be on the committee and it’s possible he is outvoted on appointments!

its not just the players . I think it goes deeper than that .When that first goal went in there was no fight in the team . The only spark seemed to be coming form Otis Khan again .
