Jackett OUT

Post by Currywurst and Chips »

Currently 5 points less than Embleton achieved at the same point and that was painful

Completely woeful going forward, haven't seen a goal for three months and I'm a season ticket holder

11 points off the playoffs which Kent said was the benchmark.

Given the amount the owners have put in it's embarrassing how lacklustre this team is

I would say we should presevere, but we're not going to get anything on Tuesday and next Saturday is a very losable game too. Where will that leave us?

You can't see us getting 3 points anytime soon. On current form, we will lose the next 3 games.
I'm afraid our experienced manager has failed, seems incapable of turning it around & has to go otherwise I fear things will get worse.

It’ll leave us with dwindling crowds and those who do turn up will be pretty unhappy about it. That was utter toilet today, and if we lose on Tuesday I’m not sure Jackett will still be in charge next Saturday.

The club made their bed when they sacked Embleton.

Is this meant to be a joke?
Embleton was 'fine', nothing more than that, he should never have been put in charge in the first place, that all stemmed from the JE situation.
I think highly of Ross as a person, but as a manager I think he was fairly limited, not awful just limited. Think he got/gets a lot of unfair stick from our fanbase too.
But getting rid of him was absolutely the right decision.

I think the vast majority of us though Jackett was a quality appointment, a real statement of intent.

For whatever reason it has turned out to be a complete failure and he simply has to go.

Get someone else lined up who can actually take us back to L1, where we should be.

I think if you appoint inexperience, give them some time to learn. But they sacked him, then sacrificed Jobi too.

Embleton did better with worse players.

On paper, Jackett looked a good appointment but the warnings of Jackettball were there.

Yup and the initial squad signings looked like we might really be going places. Unfortunately that stopped well short of where it needed to be and at that point the intent didn't follow through.

Might be because the board didn’t want to wait 10 years on 2 people who didn’t have a clue

All about avoiding being dragged into a relegation battle. Personally I think they will stick with him unless we really go on a skid in the next month

Yes he needs to be honest with his self and stand down. He tried his best and unfortunately it didn't work. The team seemed so negative yet again today. The whole team apart from Khan looked scared. The keeper looked like he was scared to push the ball out because of the strange training ground tactics. Lower league Big Sam Alladyce tactics dont work any more Kenny. Hopefully the chairman wont hang about as usual and make a big decision now. I don't think he will and our season is over already 😞 Up the Os!

Both Walsall and Scunthorpe have lost the last six. I will be surprised if we get dragged into a relegation battle, but clearly on current form we can’t relax. I keep hoping KJ will turn it around, but the lack of chances is a major concern, and the contrast to our free scoring performances earlier in the season stark. One goal in the last seven games (including Cup) says it all, it’s not acceptable and the owners must be worried, something needs to change.

Their money should have been spent on bringing in loan players from higher up the league. From what I've seen so far Otis Khan is our best transfer window signing by a country mile. We badly needed to sign other players of his quality and we didn't do it . Colchester and Stevenage did and both are now currently better than us . Apart from Khan we sign a released Derby academy player, a National League player and two League Two squad players .I'm sorry but if we wanted promotion this season we badly needed better .Now we look more like relegation candidates than anything else . Ross had 5 more points on the board this time last season . If the sack was good enough for Ross than KJ must be on borrowed time.

Looking at just how down the player were today, how totally lacking in confidence they are, I can’t see how he’ll turn it around. One of the senior players like a smith having a paddy about being subbed for the first time this season shows it’s over.

Going to a 4-4-2 after 15 minutes today with Khan and Young as wingers shows he’s letting it affect him too, that’s a shocking call.

It leaves us praying that Scunthorpe and Oldham carry on being as bad as they are otherwise we could well end up in trouble .

The whole team do not look sure, and neither does Jackett. There's certainly not a good feel about everything, on and off the pitch. And I'm beginning to think NT was putting on a bit of a brave face in that interview the other day.

The fact it was pre-recorded with a very obvious cut and edit at the end gave that away

Watching the Nigel Travis interview I believe these players are what KJ wanted . He should have chosen players from higher leagues but he didn't and now we're struggling . As I said before this transfer window was a missed opportunity.
