Can we get two points per game?
Can we get 2 points per game from now till the end of the season, because that's what we need to make the play offs. Another 44 points would give us a total of 76, which should be enough.
From my point of view, the answer is no. We look like we'll never score another goal let alone win 15 games.
This was supposed to be the season we were going up. A new top manager, by League 2 standards, new players etc . Backed by wealthy board members etc etc, and once again, it doesn't happen

No.
I don't know what made you think this was the season we were supposed to go up. League One isnt our right.

No, not a chance in hell. We've forgotten how to win football matches and that's why I seriously doubt we'll even make the play offs. The two or three players that made the difference at the beginning of the season are now missing and won't be back this season.

Bringing in KJ and the board talking about their ambition for promotion got our hopes up .Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 6:42 pm No.

Re: Can we get two points per game?
Believe it or not Craig Clay. People say he has limited ability but when he's not in the side it shows . We've also badly missed Archibald although he should be back for Saturday . In truth without those three players we're going to struggle. That's why I was hoping we'd sign players of similar quality during this transfer windowStory of O wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 7:39 pmJames is one, but who are the other twoRedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 7:20 pm No, not a chance in hell. Re: Can we get two points per game?
Unfortunately no, this is due to a wafer thin squad with insufficient quality players to take the place of injured players thereby effectively reducing any consistency in driving forward to promotion.

All those people slaughtering clay can now see what he brought to the team and what we miss now. RD I’m not saying you’ve had a pop at him but plenty have. He was always a good player doing stuff most don’t see nor notice until he’s not there.

Re: Can we get two points per game?
just can't see us getting that when we're trying to work our way back into form and with a condensed schedule the rest of the way.

Re: Can we get two points per game?
On current form, no. It’s been a wildly inconsistent season so far - too many grinding draws, some patches of brilliance, some free scoring runs alongside dross like the last three home games where we looked totally clueless. Consistency is the key to getting promotion and we’ve looked nothing like that; the difference between the home games vs Swindon and Crawley, only three days apart, illustrate that perfectly. Too many underperforming players and injuries haven’t helped but Jackett’s tactics have been baffling at times too.
So no, unless there’s a massive upturn in form then we won’t get the required 2ppg, and Jackett’s rolling contract means he’ll be off at the end of the season.

Why will he be off at the end of the season when it still has one year to run?

Re: Can we get two points per game?
On current form it seems unlikely we’ll get two points per game. earlier in the season we were there or thereabouts with James and Archibald creating loads and the forwards knocking them in.
Can never say never though, Mansfield have gone on a stonking run, didn’t see that coming, which has taken them from the lower reaches to top the current form table and into the play offs and closing down on automatic. And we play them next of course!

Re: Can we get two points per game?
Beat Mansfield and reassess - must win game, a draw is of no value at all; we done the must not lose for too long.
Back to 4 at the back with Ogie at left back and Moss on the right. Pratley/Kyprianou defensive midfield, Khan in midfield in some form and attack attack. Last chance saloon already, away wins have got to come now.

Re: Can we get two points per game?
This is the root of the problem, no competition in the squad for key areas and no cover for injuries or suspensions. We were lucky the Covid postponements came when they did or we would've had to play with one CM and no RB. You can't expect a sustained promotion push from a squad that stretched.PoundhillO wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 7:57 pm Unfortunately no, this is due to a wafer thin squad with insufficient quality players to take the place of injured players thereby effectively reducing any consistency in driving forward to promotion.

Re: Can we get two points per game?
perhaps get the statistical analysts to programme a database, and then enter the data on a spreadsheet, and compile a power point presentation to see if this is feasible.
If not we can all go home
