Re: Transfer rumours
I heard two names today- one is Jordan Brown from Derby who has been training with us, the other lad plays for a club in the lower reaches of the conference. Nothing about the lad from Millwall - also there has been an enquiry about a Charlton player.

Re: Transfer rumours
Jordan Brown and Ethan Coleman (the Kings Lynn player) named by the Orient Outlook podcast as incoming. Paying £80k for the latter allegedly. Backs up the suggestions above.
Would have thought we'd have gone for one young player and a grizzled veteran.

Re: Transfer rumours
Ethan is a defensive midfielder who loves a yellow card. Signed from brackly in Mar 21 on a free transfer and we are paying £80k?
Jordan is a defender who can play in midfield.
I guess that sorts out our creative element nicely.

Re: Transfer rumours
That's what they said on the podcast, though the £80k is likely to be conditional rather than a guaranteed fee (i.e. some sort of fee payable over time plus add ons based on appearances etc).
Article I've just read said Forest Green and Lincoln were interested in him last summer before he chose Kings Lynn, which seems a little strange.

he immediately stood out as one to watch, with a string of impressive performances under manager Ian Culverhouse

One to watch but an inexperienced player so hope we're not expecting too much too soon from him.Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 11:35 pmhe immediately stood out as one to watch, with a string of impressive performances under manager Ian Culverhouse
Still, we do need a defensive midfielder so it addresses an area of need

Do we though? I thought Pratley was defence minded and i don't know how to even describe Kyprianou

Re: Transfer rumours
I would feel very disappointed if either of our new midfielders wasn't the creative type. We’ve been in need of somebody like that for ages now

We need someone to do the dirty work for Pratley though as getting him to run around lots isn't the way to go.Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 8:02 am Do we though? I thought Pratley was defence minded and i don't know how to even describe Kyprianou

Re: Transfer rumours
According to Kings Lynn website they paid a small fee. Also he went there from Brackley during Covid troubles for just expenses so he could play. Seems committed to me.

Pratley struggled on Saturday without Clay doing a lot of his dirty work

The club have previously stated that we would only be looking at players with League 1 experience or above.

If we went back to the 4-3-3, with 2 forward thinking midfielders ahead of Pratley holding, we’d be sorted. Even a 5-3-2 with two attacking wing backs would be ok.

Pratley hasn’t got the legs to play in a midfield 2 and charge around for 90 mins. But he wasn’t brought here to do that. We need to get him back in his holding role, sniffing out danger and linking defence to forwards.

Looks like Ethan is going to replace Prately who has been dissapointing over the last 10 games

No issue with us identifying and acquiring talent from non league per se if we're getting the right players.

To my mind, a good player equals a good player; one can get too hung up on which League a player is worthy of....
