Tutu was one of the greatest men to ever walk on this planet.
He was a supporter of all oppressed people wherever they were, of whatever race they were, of whatever religion they were and whatever colour they were.
One of the real good guys has gone

RIP John Madden, former NFL coach, commentator and name behind the computer game series.

Not to be confused with the John Madden who won the Stanley Cup twice with the New Jersey Devils in the early 00s.

Was that the NFL films, A Football Life or another one?
Madden was my all time favourite sports commentator; very clear, quite blunt, no BS, like an endearing Roy Keane.

Fantastic actor and activist.

Credit to the radical writers, film makers and producers who created the leading parts for him in a hostile environment of 50s and 60s America.

Our dog Syd passed away suddenly yesterday whilst on his morning stroll to the green for his daily turnout.

Gutted is the only description I have for how the FTC family feel. A loyal friend who was a reassuring presence - his female sidekick Maureen today looks forlorn and lost. Heartbreaking.

Thanks Dunners. The office here today feels a very different place without his snoring and farting. It's a weird sensation being able to walk into the kitchen without having to step over his sleeping presence laying in wait to trip you up.

That being said, Maureen has now laid claim to his estate which consisted of 2 beds, some toys and 1/2 a cooked chicken in the fridge. The king is dead, long live the queen.

Very much sadness in this household at that news. Tears in my eyes. We saw him twice in concert, once standing in the mosh-pit. What an experience.

RIP big fellow. You and Jim can both play your guitars with the angels now. What a concert that would be.

I know what's going to be on the car CD player today.

Cheers Spike. Been a tough one to take but he had a good run at 9 1/2 (good for a Bulldog at least) and his passing was quick and without pain which is all you can hope for. His sidekick Maureen seems to be perking up a little every day and her presence has made this week a little easier to deal with.
