Not only can you say it - you should say it. You are a shrewd judge of stupid twattery (I suspect that's down to your years of service here)Max B Gold wrote: ↑Fri Jan 14, 2022 12:18 pmCan I just say that I thought he was an idiot prior to his latest outburst of what can only be described as imbecillic idiocy.StillSpike wrote: ↑Fri Jan 14, 2022 11:58 am What a tw*t.
Imagine trashing your own image like that. He should simply have withdrawn from the tournament as soon as it became clear that he'd not be able to get in without the vaccine, rather than stupidly trying to get around it. He could have gone for his next grand slam later in the year and all would have been fine. Now he's brought on trouble in Serbia and Spain, probably got banned from Australia for 3 years, and everyone thinks he's an idiot.

I disagree about the devaluing event. Sponsors dislike non-conformity. Mass appeal is what they want - and Novax lessens his appeal by the stance. He's devaluing himself.SvenO wrote: ↑Fri Jan 14, 2022 8:49 am I agree Djokovic is messing with the australian government.
It is a lose lose for them if they dont deport and ban him they look weak and their stance on entry to australia is shown up.
But at the risk of devaluing the australian open and the money and prestige of holding such an even.
As for the government, they have been caught short and I suspect that many other governments have learned from this and will legislate to protect their borders. It will probably make entering countries when not jabbed harder as opposed to easier.

It is a form of entertainment for them we had similar shows here and they wernt so grusome.LittleMate wrote: ↑Fri Jan 14, 2022 1:00 pmI disagree about the devaluing event. Plus rich people will find ways to circumvent anything if they want it.
I would.

Re: NoVax Djokovic
no-one comes out of this well Novak, Tennis Australia or their government. It should have all been sorted out before he even got on a plane.
I doubt the governments stance has anything to do with the looming election.

So you think it’s wrong for a Government to take a decision that they believe the majority support?

Not sure why they just couldn't tell him he needed a vacine to enter the country in the 1st place and he is mostly putting himself at risk not taking it. There is no proof saying the vacine stops you catching covid.

I’ve not been following this case closely because, to be quite honest, I couldn’t give two shits about it but didn’t the government tell him to get a vaccine but he lied that he didn’t need one?

Not sure why we need to make big examples of people just to scare a few germaphobes who are already teriffied. People will do as they do and most are waiting for all this to stop.Ronnie Hotdogs wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 8:06 pmI’ve not been following this case closely because, to be quite honest, I couldn’t give two shits about it but didn’t the government tell him to get a vaccine but he lied that he didn’t need one?

Suspect I wasn't alone in thinking the timing of the tests were somewhat convenient:
