Being busy, a working day, nothing wrong with having a beer and food. Nothing.
I’ve been droning on about it not being unusual for alcohol to be present during a working meeting. Now confirmed once and for all by Starmer. Combining a working meeting with a glass of booze happens, commonplace.
The issue with Boris and his work events was not the existence of booze but whether the gatherings broke Covid regulations.

Completely correct. Except that Boris wasn't working with his team. Nobody (except you it seems) believes that Boris was in a working meeting. He was at a party, as described by the email invite. There really is no comparison to what Starmer was doing. It's reaching at very best by Tory sycophants to try and compare Boris & chums organising parties, for up to 100 people, and Starmer having a beer whilst working.

Let me help you here. When the Government confirmed that last year's local elections were going ahead, the rules were amended to allow campaigning etc. Starmer was campaigning with about half a dozen locals in the north of England and ordered a Pizza and had it delivered to the local office as restaurants etc where closed at the time. He had a beer with his, he could have had a coke of course. They could have all brought a packed lunch, but they didn't. However everything with this "story" was well within the rules.
The Sun ran this story back in April last year but it didn't fly at the time. Now the Daily Mail have put it out again as they couldn't find anything else on Starmer to deflect the mountain of stuff on Johnson.

Did he defect to the Tories? I thought he went Tories to Liberal, then was independent and after that went back to the Tories. But in answer to your question, no but they should have.
