Re: Newcastle signings
Hope they go down. Rich owners like the Saudis & Reuben Brothers can afford it

Re: Newcastle signings
If I’d already got a sackful and was playing for one of the best clubs in the world - why??!! Don’t make sense, unless he’s as thick as ….

Re: Newcastle signings
Ignoring the ownership of Newcastle – and I’ve a good friend up there who is a massive Toon fan so I tend to look out for them - can’t help thinking it would only be good for the game if there was a stronger team in the North East who could really challenge. I recall the days under Keegan when they almost won the title. It’s all too London/ Manchester/ Liverpool orientated and has been for some time.
The same goes for a Midlands team too, oh for the pre Premier days when Forest or Derby won the title, or indeed Villa - I met a Brummie mate off the supporters coach for an overdue catch-up and to see them win at Norwich last month.
So it’s good luck to the Toon from me.

But mainly the cash. I think it will be a few seasons before they start challenging for the title.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 8:11 am?? Wealthiest club in the world with absolutely Hugh potential .

Re: Newcastle signings
Anything in which Saudis are involved is something that disturbs me. More and more the Saudis are getting into sport, to somehow show the world they are a civilised country after all. Thing is, they are not, they are the most brutal uncivilised country. They still crucify people in the 21st century.
Because of all this, I want Newcastle to fail, but of course, they wont, and they will save their premier league status this season, by signing enough quality, to avoid the drop. also helped by the fact, there's some truly awful teams at the bottom of the Premier league, none worse than Norwich, who in my opinion, are the worse side to ever play in the premier league

Love that Crystal Palace banner. The instigators should provide it freely around the premiership fanbase.

Re: Newcastle signings
Absolutely it was the cash . That's why Newcastle won't get relegated this season because they will simply buy their way out of trouble .Frogger wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 8:46 amBut mainly the cash. Such a great following. I will not begrudge them any success. Had enough of the City love-in.

I get the Saudi reasoning but for me the Geordies have suffered enough. Nobody moans about other middle eastern, Chinese, Russian involvement these days. Even the Thai's aint got a great record. It just seems we have a particular fix on Saudi's these days.Jack wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 9:53 am Anything in which Saudis are involved is something that disturbs me. Re: Newcastle signings
Newcastle is my 2nd team as my grandad was born and bred there and supported them all his life, just missing out on the Keegan years.
I'd love them to stay up and this window is crucial to doing so however, I'm not sure Howe is capable of doing it.

Decent targetman, not an.outrageous fee and weakens a relegation rival.Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Wed Jan 12, 2022 8:16 pm Chris Wood? 30 and scored 3 goals this season. £20 million
