Re: Coronavirus
Wonder what the real infection numbers would be if tests were available?
Wonder how many people attended parties over the Holiday without testing (because tests weren't available) but did have Covid and passed it on?
Wonder how many people might die because of the above?
Wonder if the govt would still be able to justify "restrictions are about right based on the data" if real infection numbers were known?

Re: Coronavirus
Although that is high, it is artificially inflated with cases not reported over the holidays

France's Bogdanoff TV twins die of Covid six days apart
Grichka and Igor Bogdanoff became France's most famous twins, hosting a TV science and science-fiction show in the 1980s on a spaceship set.
They died of coronavirus within days of each other in hospital, Grichka on 28 December and his brother on Monday.
Aged 72, the brothers had not been vaccinated against Covid-19.
Their friends said they were convinced their healthy lifestyle would protect them and they were admitted to hospital in mid-December.

Re: Coronavirus
We are lucky in that we know more about treating Covid than we did last year. That must be a factor in the stable death rate

Re: Coronavirus
Another fact, around 90% of those in hospital with Covid are people who have not received the Covid vaccination. These many un-vaccinated people with Covid who need hospital treatment, are holding back the treatment of many other patients who need urgent treatment for various types of critical illnesses.Currywurst and Chips wrote: ↑Tue Jan 04, 2022 7:53 pmI'm not trying anythingGeorge M wrote: ↑Tue Jan 04, 2022 6:02 pmAnd still no increase in deaths. Re: Coronavirus
909 deaths in the last week according to govt data site . George doesnt include those in his "still no increase in death statements" . Only up 50 % on the previous 7 day figures!

Whilst I agree about unvaccinated people being a drain the 90% figure that is regularly quoted is wrongSid Bishop wrote: ↑Tue Jan 04, 2022 8:27 pmAnother fact, around 90% of those in hospital with Covid are people who have not received the Covid vaccination.
