Re: What are you Watching Today Part 2
Isn't it pretty much a requirement nowadays for Hollywood names to jump on whatever the latest right-on bandwagon is? Hardly anti-establishment.
Anyway, I've also watched it. I didn't think it was as well done as The Big Short, but was enjoyable enough for lazy sofa viewing. They clearly blew the budget on the actors, as the rest of the production was Netflix average.

You want to try driving my cab. Every day a different bam unleashes their youtube knowledge on me. I tear them to shreds and we never part friends. The UK has the worst education system in Europe.Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Fri Dec 31, 2021 11:35 pm Dont Look Up- too depressingly familiar to be funny. 7/10

Surely you mean "Scotland has the worst education system in Europe"?Max B Gold wrote: ↑Fri Dec 31, 2021 11:43 pmYou want to try driving my cab. The UK as a whole seems to be doing perfectly well.

Re: What are you Watching Today Part 2
Been watching a couple of short-run drama series on the Beeb.
A Very British Scandal about a couple of awful poshos, their acrimonious divorce and the wife’s infamous blowjob selfie was well done. That Claire Foy seems to be the current go-to actress (Queen Liz in The Crown) for upper class totty.
The Girl Before whodunnit psychodrama about a minimalist, brutalist architect and the uncannily similar women in his life was a bit silly, but not bad if you fancy a bit of tv wallpaper.

This afternoon - 16:25 on ITV4 - The Shootist. John Wayne's final movie, about a gunslinger who learns he has cancer and tries to set his affairs in order. Lovely performance from Lauren Bacall too. Worth a couple of your hours.

Not sure being anti-rape and wanting men in positions of power to stop abusing women is necessarily a right on bandwagon, but you’re entitled to your opinion.Dunners wrote: ↑Fri Dec 31, 2021 10:33 am Isn't it pretty much a requirement nowadays for Hollywood names to jump on whatever the latest right-on bandwagon is? Good point. You should NOT be allowed this opinion.Dunners wrote: ↑Mon Jan 03, 2022 9:58 amMore woke nonsense.Ronnie Hotdogs wrote: ↑Mon Jan 03, 2022 9:46 amNot sure being anti-rape and wanting men in positions of power to stop abusing women is necessarily a right on bandwagon, but you’re entitled to your opinion.Dunners wrote: ↑Fri Dec 31, 2021 10:33 am Isn't it pretty much a requirement nowadays for Hollywood names to jump on whatever the latest right-on bandwagon is? The Man who Bought Cricket is fascinating - on Sky Documentaries.
I must have been asleep around 2008 when this all kicked off - but what an extraordinary story - even if you don't happen to be into cricket. One episode down, 2 to go.

Finished Gomorrah.
Bereft - feels like when you've finished the whole selection box when you'd planned to save some for later.
Also now watching Bates Motel which is enjoyably silly.

I'm halfway through Gomorrah Series 5, it's magnificent but have a feeling of impending doom approach. That end music would be good at my funeral.StillSpike wrote: ↑Tue Jan 04, 2022 2:56 pm Finished Gomorrah.

I enjoyed it all the way through. A little Fargoish and a little like Patriot.
