I would say 50% do always , 50% where in close proximity to others. We are supposed to show vaccine passports to enter restaurants or bars . I haven’t been asked to show them anywhere. Nobody is adhering to that particular requirement. Spanish people I have spoken to don’t talk about Omicron. They have it in their head that it is nothing to worry about.

Tuffers the hospitals are not struggling at all with admissions, the issue is staff sickness through isolation. Look at the reality and not the spin.

I'm more convinced than ever that the government are working towards the complete dismantling of the NHS to be replaced with the USA insurance model.

Mark my words.

But Boris said, they are not going to sell off the NHS. I read it in their manifesto in 2019. also Boris said, they are building 40 new hospitals, with 50,000 new nurses, and before that he posted that the NHS will be getting £350,000 every week
He wouldnt lie to us......would he?

The nurses are being delivered as will the hospitals all packaged up in the deal once we hand it over. The chancellor was recently in a meeting with usa health insurance officials instead of a covid meeting tells me they are well down this path.

Hardly an original thought is it? Parts of the NHS - the bits that could easily be monetised - have already been sold off. You're just stating what we all already know.

But that's part and parcel of the same problem. Protecting the NHS - which is what restrictions are mainly intended for - isn't just about reducing the number of admissions, it's also about protecting the staff. If a NHS staff member gets covid are you suggesting that they shouldn't isolate?

The question has been asked before I know, but any ideas where you might get lateral flow tests these days? Been through the government online process to be told at the end that there are no tests available. Local chemists, libraries have none either. TIA.

(I realise you're probably asking this just to highlight the current mess/unavailability, but on the off-chance this info might help someone locate some of those elusive blue boxes...)

There's a map where you can enter a postcode: https://maps.test-and-trace.nhs.uk/

This lists all the places that should have tests, but as you've found out, nothing available. But at least it lists all the locations which should in theory have them to check, you didn't mention test centres for example, which in happier times have had them.

More like the German model. Something that was discussed over 30 years ago, but the cabinet felt it was political suicide then. However the failings of the GP's over the last 2 years is certainly being looked at, especially as GP practices are privately owned and run.
