Cost of last minute postponement
What would todays postponement cost the club apart from loss of ticket income?
Pay for:
Stewards,
programme sellers,
cleaners,
security
bar staff
food staff
All will still have to be paid I imagine
Add to that
Policing costs
Food wasted
Loss at club shop
Programme sales
Total must be many thousands of pounds most of which is unrecoverable from the match when rearranged.
At the very least the club that postponed should reimburse the opposition for all costs incurred if postponement is within 48 hours of KO.

When it comes to programme sales what usually happens is the programmes are tied over to the rearranged game .Obviously the date on the programme will be wrong but that's no big deal.Winchesterfan wrote: ↑Sat Jan 01, 2022 11:30 am What would todays postponement cost the club apart from loss of ticket income?

Classy as always, good to see somethings don’t change.
I haven’t posted for a while because of the ganging up/ multi alias sadness of the place. In my opinion It’s a sad/bad reflection on Leyton Orient this place, when it used to be quite decent as well. Shame

Re: Cost of last minute postponement
Simple. Today would have been a decent gate - I was bringing along a couple of extra bums on seats myself. The rearranged fixture will be on a Tuesday evening in Jan/Feb with a most Rovers fans unable to travel down on a work day, and a good number of O’s fans unable to make it too. We’d easily lose a couple of thousand on the gate.
Also, the Supporter’s Club will have lost out on a fair bit too - all that ale going to waste, they’re not part of the Club itself so they’ll have to take the loss on the chin too. This is all really poor form from Rovers, I’m afraid.

Re: Cost of last minute postponement
Yes , You're quite correct . I was only thinking about the printing of programmes .I was forgetting it will now be a Tuesday night game so a smaller crowd with less programme sales .I can't even make midweek games myself due to work commitments . I had the Newport and Bristol Rovers games lined up to go to and now I have to miss both games thanks to work . That's life I suppose.Winchesterfan wrote: ↑Sat Jan 01, 2022 1:37 pmReduced crowd = reduced sales quite a big dealRedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 01, 2022 1:13 pmWhen it comes to programme sales what usually happens is the programmes are tied over to the rearranged game .Obviously the date on the programme will be wrong but that's no big deal.Winchesterfan wrote: ↑Sat Jan 01, 2022 11:30 am What would todays postponement cost the club apart from loss of ticket income?

Re: Cost of last minute postponement
I am a match day steward. We have to be at BR at 11.30-12.00 but lots arrive earlier not to be late. I had already left & paid train fare £18.40 & was at Oxford Circus when we got the news (same time as fans). Doubt if we will get paid - it is casual work etc.
