As much as I love to see misbehaved kids, or kids of parents who let them run wild, get their just desserts, I feel like it’s weird that an adult would think that their job, which effectively involves walking in a silly way, is more important than the safety of a child.

Having raised two children on my own, I think I'm qualified to have an opinion.
It was the mother's fault for not having her child under control. You can't blame the kid.... Kids don't have good spatial awareness, it's the mother's fault.
Glad the kid wasn't hurt, but the mother should be taking better care of her offspring IMO.

Not long to go now until the poll closes, but it's looking like the overwhelming majority feel that the kid has been taught a valuable life lesson. As has the feckless parent. Just a few wet blankets doing their usual simple-minded, faux-compassionate hand wringing.
