I am happy to participate in this as a mild diversion from the misery of day to day existence BUT I'm just saying now that any result other than a landslide win for It's A Wonderful Life (one of the best movies ever made in any genre) will be incorrect.

One of the other best movies ever made is Dr Zhivago.

We shall test them all in the public crucible of Bandoff and that shall decide which is the best Christmas film (even if it's not a Christmas film - fyi I'm considering adding The Battle of the Bulge" now, based on my own loose interpretation of the rules)

Plenty of snow. Occurred in December. So probably qualifies but it's no Dr Zhivago.

I was hoping that the Miracle movies might be drawn together - similarly with the various versions of the Christmas Carol / Scrooge story, but that's Bandoff.

Groups will go up tomorrow for 24hrs voting and then on as usual with the knockout rounds. Reckon we should have a winner sometime on Boxing Day
