According to one site he is a midfielder/striker. Though of course that stuff could be wrong. Maybe if he ups his game a few degrees he might be a sharp Angol or even the right Angol for us.
Yes but in league 1.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2019 10:03 am The article says he became 'out of favour', quickly.bit like Alabi here.
imagine 2 Alabis in the same squad...no thanks
Also apparently that was down to a disagreement about playing styles. Nothing to do with abilityRed_Army wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2019 10:06 amYes but in league 1.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2019 10:03 am The article says he became 'out of favour', quickly.bit like Alabi here.

There are shades of Brett Holman and Jordan Bowery here Bergen.
He was injured 3 years ago. If we never signed players who've been injured in their career we wouldn't have anyone worth signing.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2019 9:54 am The fact hes had a bad injury, makes it probable he will sign....we like players with bad injuries
Chases lost causes was a term used, so plenty of running and plenty of energy. Perhaps a good fit for Wilkinson. Maybe I’ve been a bit harsh on the guy. Another post mentioned names that I really liked so when this one came up my first reaction was disappointment
One man's "chases lost causes" is another man's "100 per cent committed" type player...dOh Nut wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2019 10:12 amChases lost causes was a term used, so plenty of running and plenty of energy. But if he joins then I sincerely hope he is a young man with talent and ambition just waiting for the right club and right opportunity to show what he can do. That club being us and not the one he goes to after us before performing well.
Whoever comes in I just want them to be successful for the clubs sake. Otherwise we are in for a long, hard and frustrating season.
No problem with players who chase lost causes. Seem to remember a last minute penalty last season when a seemingly straight forward goalkeeper collect was messed up and our guys were there, chasing a lost cause, were brought down.Milo_T wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2019 10:14 amOne man's "chases lost causes" is another man's "100 per cent committed" type player...dOh Nut wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2019 10:12 amChases lost causes was a term used, so plenty of running and plenty of energy. What player would you bid for instead?Disoriented wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2019 10:08 amThere are shades of Brett Holman and Jordan Bowery here Bergen.
We can do better.
It's definitely happeningOmygawd wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2019 11:05 am So let us just surmise for a moment that this is true (no idea if it is or isn't). It wouldn't be the first or last time that someone who is out of favour is given a further chance and there are successes and failures. However this man was once good enough to attract Spurs and there is positive comment around about him. A move to us, a Club on the up despite our recent tragedy, and near to home for him might just work. Sometimes you have to gamble and as has already been said he and Wilkinson may complement each other. Let's see if it materialises and, if it does, get behind him.
Danny Rose of Mansfield Town. The Big Shot wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2019 11:16 amWhat player would you bid for instead?Disoriented wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2019 10:08 amThere are shades of Brett Holman and Jordan Bowery here Bergen.

What’s wrong with Alabis attitude. For all his short comings last season never saw anything that made me question attitude, quite the reverse in fact.Eat The Rich wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2019 10:42 am Remember him from his time at Spurs and Boreham Wood. Very capable striker. Can also play left wing or 10. He used to be pretty quick and has always had an excellent work rate. His goals ratio can be improved by playing in the right system and with the right players. Anyone comparing him to Alabi is way off the mark. Angol is a far superior player both technically and in attitude.

Let me rephrase...Alabi's personality. Timid, lacking in self-confidence, high maintenance.dOh Nut wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2019 11:57 amWhat’s wrong with Alabis attitude. As far as needing the right system. That’s the issue we had with Alabi in my opinion, never really used him well.
What I wonder is if the reasoning behind Angol is to compliment Wilkinson with a fast, energetic partner to create as well as score.
Such as? The only player I can think of in the past 3 offseasons is Gorman.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2019 9:54 am The fact hes had a bad injury, makes it probable he will sign....we like players with bad injuries
I reckon Gorman will come good this season .Smendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2019 12:39 pmSuch as?
