I can see they have announced a lockdown for the unvaccinated but can’t see if that was to tackle their delta problems or Omicron. Either way they didn’t act any quicker than us

This really is where having a leader with no authority or integrity is so important. There’s no way Boris could do that now and people would take any notice. His frivolous and sloppy leadership will, once again, lead to more deaths.

But SAGE would of course be aware of all that so begs the questions why that it is being suggested and released to the press in this way. Questionable

Sage aren’t there to play politics. They don’t care what it means for Boris, they just have to suggest what they think the right thing is.

Well, yeah. But it’s not as straight forward as that. I’d assume you don’t really want public health recommendations ’leaked’, especially without context, during a stressful and worrying time. Granted it was probably leaked by someone wanting to hold the government to account because they are too scared to enforce another lockdown…

Which we knew would happen. It’s the dominant variant. Deaths and hospitalisations are the trigger as you know. Seems as though that with an estimated 300,000 cases a day and only 50,000 additional reported cases , many are not experiencing symptoms severe enough to bother testing.

There’s a lot of people not testing because they don’t want to be isolated for Xmas or miss work, for sure.

When was the last time someone was hospitalised or died of a cold m8?

So as of today , there were 65 hospitalisations in the UK because of Omicron. I haven’t been able to find a death as a result of Omicron. All scientists are still saying that the major symptoms are in order
1. Runny nose
2 . Headache
3 . Fatigue
4 . Aches.

All the symptoms of a cold , basically. I am not posting this to be smug and this is the current picture and not what may happen further down the line.
