Thieving gits.
My wife’s car was in collision with a deer on Friday (RIP Rudolph) perils of being semi rural. Informed the insurance company as the car doesn’t look pretty now. Had to call back Monday and all seemed OK appointed a garage to do the work guaranteed a call within two hours to arrange collection all very smooth…….No call left it in till today just in case but nothing, called the insurers back they asked us to call the garage ourselves which we did, can’t do it till mid January, my wife’s a key worker and needs her car for work we explained this didn’t give a toss.
So we called a couple of body shop/repair centres locally one said no problem do it next week asked insurer if we could use them as a months wait to get the car looked at was no good, after much huffing and puffing looks like we can get it done but we have to pay double the excess as the garage are not approved by them.
Bare in mind our insurer is supposedly 5 star refactor, they just rubbish aren’t they.

Re: Thieving gits.
How much is your excess?
It may be better not to go through insurance (depending on damage) as not only will you pay double excess but also be loaded for a couple of years for having the accident as well.

I'm assuming you have checked the T&C's of your policy regarding the double excess. It may be a try on. Just goes to show hitting a Dear can be very expensive.Top of the JES wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 4:47 pm My wife’s car was in collision with a deer on Friday (RIP Rudolph) perils of being semi rural. Wife veggie she’s mortified she killed Bambi. We literally never saw the poor thing it hurdled the barrier on the dual carriageway and blind sided us from the right hand side, we felt the impact before we even saw it.

Also the rule would be the person behind can have Rudolph for dinner, but not your wife unfortunately.Top of the JES wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 5:33 pmWife veggie she’s mortified she killed Bambi.
