Owls
At school right, did anyone in their mid-ish 30s have an annual thing where some bird sanctuary came in and every kid had photos taken with a barn owl on their shoulder? Just loads of 8 year olds looking really nervous of this thing perched right by their face.
My school did it every year but anyone else I've mentioned it to has looked at me like I'm mental. Was this an Essex thing or not even that?

Re: Owls
In my days it was all male schools, and we never got a chance to get near the " birds ", unless we went on a school trip. Then it was all hell let loose as we were a real smooth lot.

Re: Owls
We had a cracking owl sanctuary near us. Took a few birds there for a visit in the old days.
