Ratings.

Post by Beradogs »

Starting to become very frustrating watching us. Even before they scored I thought that nobody deserved more than a 6 because we were clearly far superior but just don’t seem to have the belief to put teams away. We aren’t going to get in the play offs unless we start winning these type of games. Rochdale were rubbish.
Vigoroux. 5.5. Dropped a couple of crosses. No chance with the goals.
James. 6. Mixed bag. Some good in terms of his defending. Not so good with his attacking play today.
Ogie. 6. Had another good game although not sure who lost their man for the first goal.
Beccles. 6. All the defence played well.
Mitchell 6. With the platform our defence gives us we should be burying teams. They scored in the first and last minute. The rest of the game Mitchell et al never gave them a sniff.
Archibald. 5.5. Limited opportunities to get forward.
Kemp. 5.5. Runs around a lot and does help with our pressing but not a lot of quality on the ball.
Clay. 6 MOM. Can have man of the match for his goal but we need more creativity in the middle.
Hector. 6. Him,Clay and Pratley ain’t bad and hector had a decent enough game but to go from fringe play off contenders to top 3 we need something more.
Drinnan. 6. Dulcet and his mate spent all game going on about the pronunciation of his name so I lost track of when he actually had the ball or whether they were musing over drinnan or drynan for the umpteenth time. Worked hard.
Smith. 5. Missed a sitter with his head. Didn’t play particularly well.

Subs 5.

Smyth. 1. We missed him badly but he was celebrating his goal midweek with somersaults after he was already injured. What a plonker. May as well get rid as despite being a really good player for this level he ain’t ever going to play more than a handful of games.

Jacket. 5. Can he please get it into the players head that this league is p poor this season and there is nothing to fear. After they scored their second goal we had about 3 chances in the final 5 minutes. When we want to we just up a gear and other teams don’t have an answer so why are we not putting these games to bed earlier. Grrrrrrrrr

Ref. 6. Correctly noted that Ogie did not nut their bloke.

Lost count of the times I heard “good work from Clay”.
And I think we are holding Archibald back playing him where we are

But if it was Dulcet saying that then he could have been talking about any of our players. He's getting more and more names wrong these days. The knackers yard beckons.

Plus the fact he called a Rochdale goal when it went into side.netting for a corner then had to rely on the co-commentator to describe what had just happened

All season we've been carrying one or two players. Today was a real team effort and I couldn't fault any of them over the 90 minutes. Really good performance, disappointing result.

Vigoroux is a good shot stopper but rarely goes out to catch or punch away crosses into the box especially from corners.
