Re: COP26
Picked up a geezer from the station the other night who was a first aid guy for the protesters at COP26.
He was telling me how the Met had been aggressive and violent on the streets of Glasgow. Throwing 16 year old girls to the ground. Swinging him around and and ripping his jacket etc you know what they are like, absolute animals.
I dropped him of at the place he was staying and didn't take the fare as it sounded like he'd had a hard day.
Today I picked up a photographer/journalist who gave up because the cops were harrasing him. Denying him access, verbal threats and aggressive pushing about.
We are becoming a police state.

Re: COP26
While Cold War Steve's images are impressive (but not funny) you can't beat real life. The Oaf, unmasked, sitting next to a 92yo and nodding off says much more. And before PAM responds with the picture of the 92yo without a mask, yes I've seen it and only one of them is an oaf.

Bears sh!t in the woods news: most Brits won’t change their lifestyle/habits voluntarily to deal with Climate Change. Tbh, I’m probably one of them too.

Re: COP26
We've done what we can. The six recycling bins the council have imposed on us without a referendum already takes up half my week organising the rubbish for the right bins. Enough is enough.slacker wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 10:10 am Bears sh!t in the woods news: most Brits won’t change their lifestyle/habits voluntarily to deal with Climate Change. Re: COP26
I'm not going to bother separating out my bottles and cans until China stops digging up coal. So there.
It's almost as if relying on the market place to deal with a problem caused by rampant market economics is a bit of a non-starter.

Re: COP26
I always recycle my ample supply of bottles from the Wine Society. So I reckon I've earned all those trips abroad.

Re: COP26
You have.
I believe all beers, lagers, cider etc should all use the same bottles so that they can be returned intact, cleaned and reused instead of being transported to a sorting station and then crushed up and remanufactured using high cost energy.
