Let’s be clear. The Jackett honeymoon period is over. Stevenage could have had 4 or 5 goals if List had his shooting boots on. Yes, we should have had a stonewall penalty but overall we were pretty poor again.
Vigouroux. 7. Couple of very good saves.
James. 7. Two or three goal-line tackles/blocks and played well.
Beccles. 6. Strange game in that the defence never looked overly troubled but they had plenty of chances so hard to mark high.
Ogie 7. MOM. Man of the match again for me. The sky is the limit for Shadrach. Won’t be here long if he continues like this. Brushed the oppo aside like they were annoying flies.
Archibald. 5.5. Wing back and didn’t work. Taken off just after half time. Zero impact.
Mitchell. 6. Solid enough but can get turned easily and his usual miss kick or two.
Hector. 5. A lot of our problems are in the centre of midfield where there is zero creativity. We start the game knowing 8 of our players are unlikely to score. After Tuesday someone said they are struggling to see the point of hector and for a player in his pivotal position he is remarkably quiet most weeks.
Pratley. 5. Usual effort from him. Huff and puff but him and hector are never going to score in a month of Sunday’s.
Kemp. 5. No influence at all.
Ruel. 6.5. I thought he held the ball up well and put in a good effort even if he didn’t have any clear chances that I can remember.
Smith. 6. The problem we have is that Smith actually plays reasonably well every week (rubbish shots today aside) so hard to drop him but just having him on the pitch means we are forever just kicking it in his general and vague direction. We have lost all the pace from our game. We are basically becoming very hard to watch.

Subs. Clay. 5.5. No impact. Drinnan 5. One terrible cross and that was it.

Jackett. 5. Needs to sign a creative central midfield player who can score goals. No pressure then Kenny.

Stevenage. 6. Will be pleased with a point after recent results. They were not great but neither are we.

Ref. 4. Bottled the pen.

I said on here sometime ago that Ogie would be good after I spoke to Andy Hessentailer when he was with him at Dover. Andy was and is proving right in his assessment. It’s great to see and watch him develop.

Can't believe that KJ is still experimenting, Archibald is not a wing back and as soon as he got booked his game was over. There is also no real fluidity in our attack. Not always Smith's fault as he wins everything in the air but Ruel doesn't seem to be able to play off him. Smith had a good first half but was frustrated after the break and became greedy, shooting on sight (should have scored his one clear cut chance). Kemp gave us an extra body in midfield and it worked in the first half but he doesn't have a full 90 minutes in him and was in and out after the break. Pratley is frustrating as he doesn't have an attacking bone in his body and after we took Hector off he kept popping up in advanced positions. We also made a mistake taking Hector off as Clay doesn't have his passing quality and just ran around a lot. At the back Ogie and James played well (James was my MoM) but Mitchell and Beckles were poor and we would have lost against a more clinical team.

Don't have an answer to the conundrum, but it ain't working at the moment even if we do have time to sort it out.

We are though a team in progression or work in action. Keep the faith everyone it will come good I’m certain of that. If people can’t beat you it only needs some tweaks to get the goals going and I’m hopeful kJ will find that answer soon enough. All the while we don’t lose others do and when we start to put a run together it will be a big uplift in points verses others who lose.

Others on this forum ( myself included ) highlighted him as a special player to keep an eye on a couple of seasons before he went to Dover. I also had a chat with Justin Edinburgh about him after the 7th July 2018 friendly game against Harlow Town. We won that game 7-0 and Shadrach Ogie had the squad number of 25 and played at left back. Justin was very enthusiastic about his progress when we spoke about him.

Weird innit that we’ve played formations that do not fit our squad and tactics that mean we struggle to score under 3 different managers…

Thanks for the ratings BD- appreciated. I wasn't at the game today, but sounds pretty similar to both Walsall and FGR.

The incisive football we were playing at the start of the season seems to have deserted us. As others have said, we could do with some creativity in the centre, not that I'm knocking either Hector, or Pratley, particularly - we just need someone to drive us forward...

It's starting to look that way, similar story with Reilly who really is going to be a make or break signing between now and January

Btw I fully expected mid table obscurity until Jan. we will have funds come Jan and if we still in the mix we will pass others who don’t.

Good assessment but I’d drop each by .5 it was a poor game and nobody played well, but some played better than others.

Vig 8
James 6
Beckles 6
Ogie 6
Mitchell 6.5
Archibald 5
Pratley 5.5
Kyprianou 5.5
Kemp 5.5
Sotiriou 6
Smith 6

Vig the standout as without him could of been 2/3 down at half time.

Defence solid enough but lucky list didn’t take one of many of his chances.

Midfield- crying out for someone who can create and drive

forwards- smith great header, even better save. Should of scored second half too again won everything aerially and some tidy hold up play.

Sotiriou held the ball up well enough feeding off scraps- deserves a run in the team IMO

Kj- still doesn’t know best xi

Maybe our problem has been that our central midfield has had no creativity now for two or three years . When was the last creative midfielder we had .

It's Ling's absolute blind spot..ironically he CDAJ if he was 30 years younger! I guess the answer would be Charlie Lee, or at least, I think he was supposed to be but failed to be any good at pretty much anything. We've finally got a decent 'enforcer' in Pratley, we would fly with someone you could unlock a defence next to him.

We've brought in Callum Reilly to be the creative midfielder - but of course he has been injured.

How do you know Reilly is any good , have you seen him play on a regular basis . My belief was that he was a converted full back and played most of the time as wide midfield and cutting in . If so not really the creative player, or now saviour, you were looking for.
