Guardian got his name wrong - it's David Amess. Met him years ago at the H.O.P. - proper Eurosceptic and a bit hang 'em and flog 'em.

Regardless of his politics this is sh*t news - fingers crossed for him.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but I think there may be more to it than that. Even if Labour was all united behind a single vision right now, I genuinely don't think it would be making much difference.
