There is certainly something missing at the moment . We need to find a higher gear if we want promotion . I'm confident Kenny will know what's needed and where.

Re: 2 points from 9
Need to find an attacking plan B, it's got a bit stale and we're not moving the ball around and working the crosses like we were.
Need Smyth back in one piece from international duty and with James back in starting line up get more width and pace going on. Was a bit too industrial today, no real quality until Sotiriou came on.

Re: 2 points from 9
As long as we are there or there abouts they will bring in some cover and upgrades in Jan.
Loan of the Norwich kid seems to be a bit of a waste or time and the fact that clay is our back up right back also seems weird but we aren’t in a bad position still.

Re: 2 points from 9
Kenny Jackett played Papadopoulos against Southampton at right back, so clearly he is looking at other back up options, if Clay had been needed in midfield.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Sat Oct 09, 2021 5:32 pm As long as we are there or there abouts they will bring in some cover and upgrades in Jan.

Pleased with the season so far, all teams are going to hit flat spots but we have two home games on the spin now and we need to make them count, this team will get better the more they play together and get a fit Paul Smyth in and as we saw last week he will give us another dimension. Add a couple of players in Jan and we could have a very strong season.

Both games Will be a test . I think we’ll only draw with Walsall and lose to FGRStory of O wrote: ↑Sat Oct 09, 2021 7:16 pm The second of those 2 home games is against Forest Green, that will be a test.

Re: 2 points from 9
So easy to see through this original post.
We have a very good start to the season & then have a blip over 3 games.
3 games that included 2 tough away trips & the Mansfield game who basically set up not to lose.
At Port Vale the manner in which we conceded in injury time is something that can easily worked on.
Come back after our next 4 games (with 3 at home) at then we will know whether we are good enough.
I think, we have a great manager & assistant & a very capable squad.

If we only draw at home against a very average Walsall side, then we are way underperforming and aren't a playoff team.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 5:29 amBoth games Will be a test . Me too. There's no doubt we've run out of steam of late. The threat on the opposition and the confidence and buzz seems to have waned somewhat.Let's hope it's just a stalling of the engine. The management team have a revitalising job to do.

regardless of performances or Luck .
If we want to gain promotion we need ro avoid runs like this .
Kenny said after the game we maybe defended to deep & had
nobody to make a block on the shots against Port Vales Goals.
I agree with management & Squad .
But 8t doesnt guarantee anything

Re: 2 points from 9
4 league wins all season, it really isn’t good enough.
I remember we had a similar decent start under Hendon and then tailed off at this stage.
Even last season, we under resourced our squad and it feels like we are a couple of players short of quality and a lot of teams (like last season) look equally as good as us.
I really hope we power through this next stage and become one of the front runners.

Wouldn’t describe it as very unlucky at all. Could have won all 3 and maybe should have won all 3. Pretty bloody annoying.Orient Punxx wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 8:42 am Very unlucky to only get 2 points from those games. Could have won all 3.

Re: 2 points from 9
I thought the way we won the Oldham was going to be the start of a good run even though they were bottom we showed the signs of a promotion winning team. Since then the Os have looked like a team happy to end up as one finishing mid-table. If he had brought on Dan Kemp he would have slotted homer the one that Craig Clay missed so easily. He never seems to improve. What's happened to the mid-fielder we signed on-loan?

Re: 2 points from 9
We demolished Oldham because our front line pressed them high up the pitch, they also played a pretty high line which was baffling. League 2 defenders are so uncomfortable on the ball and lack recovery pace, I think Kenny and co need to work on the teams' fitness levels and work on our pressing in the final third. We have a lack of creativity in our midfield - pressing high up can often be the best playmaker.
