Re: no taking the knee today
I think the point they are making is taking the knee doesn't make any difference & they are right.
It's pretty much an empty gesture that doesn't stop racist tw@ts.
You need to take action which Vigs did last week by sharing screen shots. It's far more effective to call them out. Hopefully the big SM companies & police take tough action.

Re: no taking the knee today
Taking the knee is a gesture and one I agree with. Following on from last weeks abuse they have decided to make a different gesture but, for a club that is very open with its fans, it needs to be explained.O my gawd wrote: ↑Sat Oct 09, 2021 10:22 pm I think the point they are making is taking the knee doesn't make any difference & they are right.

Re: no taking the knee today
I am more than a little surprised that the team didnt take the knee yesterday.
i hope its not because they think, it winds up racists, to do the kind of thing a couple did last week, and by not taking the knee, it will stop racist attacks
I too think the club needs to explain this to the fans

Hector is asked about it in his after match interview on youtube.jamespevans wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 12:19 pmTaking the knee is a gesture and one I agree with. Re: no taking the knee today
Not sure it's right that the players owe anyone an explanation if they choose to kneel, perform any other gesture or do nothing at all. It is right that we respect their choice to kneel if they wish to, and their right not to.

Hector said after last week, the group have decided the gesture is not having the effect it should so have decided to stand.
The racists have won.

Re: no taking the knee today
Well now I'm confused, as I thought it had been stated that it was the Premier League, or the Club, or some other group of Marxists who were forcing the players to take the knee - but now it seems that it really was their choice whether to take it or not.
Now that's been established, I do think it's a bit of an odd decision by the boys. It seems to send the message "if you don't like us taking the knee, then all you need to do is racially abuse our keeper and we'll stop". It's their call, of course, and I wouldn't have that any other way, but I can't really fathom the thinking behind this decision.

Re: no taking the knee today
Maybe they have decided they will do something pro active that would replace 20 knees. How about getting one of the black or Asian kids off one of the estates in Leyton to co present the live stream. Instantly you have changed one life.

Re: no taking the knee today
People who think it's an odd decision- did you think it would continue forever?
If it did, wouldn't that mean it is a failure?

Re: no taking the knee today
To be perfectly honest, I felt embarrassed watching the Barrow players taking the knee, while our players just stood there.
Obviously the sh1t that came Vigs way a week ago was upsetting, so it seems they've done what they believe to be something that would make that not happen again, by appeasing the racists.
Big mistake IMO

Re: no taking the knee today
Never saw the point of it anyway for it wasn’t obviously having a positive effect, as there continues to be many well-publicised cases of racialism. Well done Vigs calling it out last week, that’s the type of action which does have an effect.
Am guessing that those on here who have previously suggested that anyone not in favour of taking the knee must be a racialist may be reconsidering that opinion.

Re: no taking the knee today
Think it was more aimed at those who were actively booing taking the knee.
It's the players call, as long as they felt it had meaning to them, then they had my support. If they don't anymore, then that's again their call. Only annoyance is that all those brain dead we only hate Marxism types will use this as justification for being dickheads.

Not forever. But I don’t think they’d change tact the week after Vigaro cops a load of racial abuse.Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 4:31 pm People who think it's an odd decision- did you think it would continue forever?

It’s the Dummies who boo those taking the knee that are the racialists.EastDerehamO wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 7:43 pm

Re: no taking the knee today
Please don’t.
I have no problem ripping into some Epping wideboy failed footballer or a middle class uni graduate playing at being tv presenters but I’d probably be uncomfortable doing the same if the club take your advice.

What have the club actually done to support the movement and make changes?
