I did see Bernard Lee's portrait up during the film. As for the music if you've never heard it check our Radiohead's Spectre which was far more impressive and much better than Sam Smiths take on the film. However, they got side swiped and Smith got the nod with to me and inferior song.

Interesting. This is something I may cover in my upcoming review as I went to see it last night at The Radway, Sidmouth, Bumpkinshireland.

The night did not start well. The cinema was fully booked but the nice lady put two seats in the area reserved for the wheelies for us.

However, her act of West Country generosity was quickly devalued when she refused to take my Scotch £20 note as she "doesn't take those" . I just said "you do now" and she did after making me confirm it wasn't a "fake". Which I happily did because I have no way of knowing if it was or not. A part of me kind of wishes it was.

I suspect that she felt bad about her act of casual racism because she then turned up at our seats and asked if she could get us anything from the bar but I advised her that we couldn't pay as we only had that forrin Scotch money that she doesn't take. She laughed nervously. I frowned. We ordered drinks.

Film review to follow later. One thing I couldn't help notice was that it was very long. That is rarely a good thing unless of course it is Sir David Lean's Dr Zhivago.

Given the number of fiascos, blunders and fuk ups made by the wholly unfit for purpose English secret service in recent years it was a surprise to learn they allowed cameras behind the scenes to film this fly on the wall documentary.

It features two agents with the same 007 code name (another blunder ? We are never told). It was, however, easy to tell them apart even though they came from the same school of wooden acting. This was because one was a lean chiselled looking man and the other was a not unattractive woman. Whether Bond pumped her or not we are never told.

The "method" behind the filming is basically primitive, admired by the same sort of people who are delighted when a stage set has running water or a painted horse looks real enough to ride.

Sometimes one must admit one is precisely that sort of person. I agree that the plot of Never say Die lumbers noisily from nowhere to nowhere. That the characters undergo inexplicable changes of heart and personality.

That it is not easy to care much about Bond himself, in Craig's soulful but bewildered performance. That the life of the movie is in its corners (the wickedness of Blofeld, the solemn pomposity of M). That the music by a former client, Hans Zimmer, goes on the same shelf as "Waltzing Matilda" as tunes that threaten to drive me mad.

That said it was loud, fast moving and pish.

I thought it rattled along OK - given the length. But it is all about the end. Glad I bothered to see it in a cinema.

By the way did any of the Spanish speakers on here (I know a bit) notice that Ana de Armas uttered a very rude word in Spanish during a fight sequence? Clearly the producers thought it was OK to keep it in. “coño“ is the word.

Yes. But M also swore ("oh, for f*ck sake") during a conversation with Q. I also think I recall Bond sort of swearing ("I couldn't give a crap").

Wonder if any of the press outlets online or TV can get through a story on it without mentioning his wife.

Seen a handful now and they can’t help themselves

I couldn’t possibly say as I don’t know the details and wouldn’t want to say anything libellous

She did meet him directing a film he was in when she was 42 and he was 18 though, that’s beyond doubt

Probably seemed alright at the time. Not so great now as she approaches sixty and he's only just past thirty.

This is the first I'd heard about this, so did the obligatory google image search. Yeah, I reckon Hoover's right.
